2017 NFL – Miami Dolphins at Carolina Panthers Betting Preview

The final match of week ten of the NFL season takes us to Carolina in the Monday Night Football as the Carolina Panthers take on the Miami Dolphins in what could be quite a defensive tussle given the campaigns the two sides have put together so far.

Miami are the lowest scoring side in the league while the Panthers have struggled for touchdowns themselves for much of the campaign so there is every chance this could be a low scoring contest.

Carolina Panthers

The Panthers have one of the best records in the NFC this season with a 6-3 record to date as they look to get back to the Super Bowl for the second time in three years. They have struggled on offense with Greg Olsen being a big miss for them but they have more than made up for that on defence where they are rated the best in the league.

Carolina are lighter on offense than when we last saw them on our screens having allowed Kelvin Benjamin to be traded away which was a surprise. That has left Devin Funchess, Christian McCaffrey and Ed Dickson to carry the burden so all eyes will be on Cam Newton to see how he goes without his leading receiver.

Miami Dolphins

When the Dolphins have been good this season they have generally been very good but when they have been had they have been extremely ordinary and that has to be rated as a major concern for them as they look for a win which will see them clinging to the coattails of the New England Patriots in the AFC East.

Miami also shocked many by trading a star player away before the trade deadline when they allowed Jay Ajayi to go to Philadelphia and his impact there was immediate which rubbed salt into the wounds for an offense which has been struggling. They have had issues at quarterback this season which haven’t helped by Jay Cutler appears fit for this one.

Betting

With Miami the lowest scoring side and Carolina not much higher and both defences being more than competent I’m not expecting to see a high scoring match here but rather than take the match unders I will go with the points line on the Miami Dolphins.

Twice this season Miami have been nilled and Carolina kept a much better Atlanta offense to 17pts last week. Miami are not strong offensively so unless their defence or special teams contribute to the point scoring for them I don’t see them getting more than 15.5pts in this one.
