The second match in the NFL on Saturday night is a battle in the NFC North as the Minnesota Vikings head to the Green Bay Packers in which only rivalry within the division is at stake despite the profile of the contest.
Minnesota Vikings have already won the division and will be going for the number one seed and home field advantage in the play-offs as they look to make it to their own Super Bowl while the defeat in Carolina last week ended Green Bay’s season from a competitive standpoint.
Green Bay Packers
Once Aaron Rodgers broke his collarbone earlier in the season this was always going to be a difficult campaign for the Green Bay Packers. In fairness they have done pretty well to hang in there and keep their hopes alive for so long because his absence was a real blow but finally last week their hopes we ended with their seventh defeat of the campaign.
That has seen Aaron Rodgers downgraded to injured reserve for the remainder of the season meaning that Brett Hundley will take the reins again in this match. Davante Adams has been ruled out through the concussion protocol too so the Packers offense is missing arguably its two most important players for this one.
Minnesota Vikings
The Vikings go into this match with an 11-3 record for the season and that does not flatter them in any way. They too have had to make do with their first choice quarterback on the sideline and they suffered the blow of exciting draft pick Dalvin Cook being ruled out for the season in week three but they have kicked on regardless.
The Vikings have won nine out of their last 10 matches and will be out to ensure their intensity doesn’t slip. Their offense has been performing very well especially when you factor in those injuries but this defence is very tight and rarely gets exposed. That is a combination which makes them genuine Super Bowl contenders.

Betting
Taking on Green Bay at Lambeau Field is not always the best move in the world but I don’t see where the Packers match up to the Minnesota Vikings. They certainly don’t on defence and with no Rodgers or Adams for the home side I don’t think the Green Bay offense is better either.
Minnesota are absolutely flying at the minute and with seemingly all of their combinations working on both sides of the ball I think they can pick up a huge margin win to pile the pressure on the Eagles in the race for the number one seed.
