All six sides are back in action at the Ram Slam T20 on Friday as the tournament begins to head towards the semi-final stage. With that in mind for the sides currently outside the top four in the table they will need to find wins to push themselves towards it while those in there will be aiming to keep them at bay.
We have a live match on our screens on Friday which sees the Knights hosting the Highveld Lions in Bloemfontein with the other two matches needing the alternative methods to be kept up to date with. We’ll begin the preview with the live game.

Knights vs Highveld Lions
The two sides in third and fourth respectively meet in the big game of the day when the Knights host the Highveld Lions. Whoever wins this match will enhance their chances of making the semi-final of the competition. The losers will need a big finish to the group stage.
The Knights probably go into the contest in the slightly better position of the two as although the pair are on the same number of points they have played a match less which could be significant. In David Miller they have the most feared finisher in the competition, maybe with the exception of AB de Villiers.
Highveld Lions’ bowling attack makes this a tough one to call but the bet I like is the same bet I played in the Lions’ last match which is to take them on in the most sixes market. The Knights hit a lot more sixes per se than the Lions and if Miller catches fire and gets going this won’t be a contest. At odds against I’ll side with the Knights on the sixes.
Dolphins vs Cape Cobras
The other side on 10pts but outside the top four on matches won are the Dolphins. They host the second placed Cape Cobras in Durban with both sides looking to win to enhance their semi-final chances.
After a sticky start to the tournament I think the Cape Cobras have found their form and ordinarily I would probably have sided with them to win the match because we’ve not really got a clear take on the Dolphins given that they’ve had three washouts. Sadly there is expected to be rain in the area here though so that puts me off getting involved.
Titans vs Warriors
The other match is a top vs bottom clash in Benoni when the defending champions Titans look to maintain or extend their lead in the table when they host the desperately in need of a win Warriors.
To date the Titans have not lost a match in the tournament and with the squad they have I’m not sure they are going to lose many but they are very short to back. That is understandable but it goes against my style to bet on short fancied runners in this format especially when the opposition have someone like Colin Ingram who can do extraordinary things for his side. I’ll leave this alone.
