The Turkish Airlines Open continues on Friday when the second round of the tournament is played. There is no cut in the event so the field don’t need to worry about ensuring they are around for the weekend so they can concentrate on getting into the best position to launch a title charge.
Thursday Recap
Three men are tied for the lead at the top of the leaderboard heading into the second round. Joost Luiten, Haydn Porteous and Nicolas Colsaerts are all on seven under par with Padraig Harrington and Andres Romero a shot further back on six under.
There is a quartet of players on five under who include our pre-tournament pick Kiradech Aphibarnrat. He is alongside Ian Poulter, Eddie Pepperell and Mathieu Pavon while Tyrrell Hatton is one player on four under.
We had a winner and a loser in our two bets on Thursday for a small profit but it gives us something to build on over the course of Friday and beyond.

Friday Betting
With the leaderboard this bunched there is no real chance of having a decent bet on the second round leader as even if you narrowed the field down you would probably have 20 names that you could pick and you still might not find the winner so I will head to the three balls for a bet on the second round.
Friday 3 Balls
Unlike most golf tournaments the groupings have changed for this second round and they go out in leaderboard order with those at the bottom out first with the leading trio out last at 9.05 GMT. There are some tasty groups heading out onto the golf course with the Paul Dunne, Soren Kjeldsen and Lee Westwood group at 8.35 GMT likely to be popular.
There is one group I like on Friday which comes towards the end of the groups out onto the golf course and features three men who will be looking to enhance their positions throughout the course of the day.
Tyrrell Hatton/Chris Wood/David Drysdale
Match tees off at 08.25 GMT
Tyrrell Hatton is looking for back-to-back Rolex Series titles this week and he goes into this second round a shot better than his two playing partners after the opening round. Chris Wood and David Drysdale are both three under with Hatton on four under.
Drysdale is something of a tee to green machine but he isn’t long which could count against him here. Another thing that could go against him is his putter can go stone cold and he isn’t used to being out this late in big tournaments. Wood is much more suited to the occasion but I think just Hatton will have the better of them both.
Only Bernd Wiesberger hit more fairways than Hatton in the first round and only Nicolas Colsaerts was longer off the tee so the Englishman’s driver is clearly working well. He hit a number of greens in regulation and putted nicely too and another round like that makes him tough to beat.
