2017 World Championship Snooker – Day 14 Betting Preview

The World Championship semi-finals continue inside the Crucible Theatre on Friday when the second sessions of both matches are played out before the first semi-final embarks on a third session in the evening on another busy day of snooker action.

By the end of day 14 of the tournament we may well have a clearer picture of who it will be who progresses to the final over the weekend.

Day 13 Recap

The first semi-final to get underway was the one between Mark Selby and Ding Junhui. It was a high quality session of snooker and it is Ding who will go into Friday’s two sessions holding a 5-3 lead which he’ll be looking to protect.

The other semi-final got started in the evening session and John Higgins leads 5-3 although after trailing 4-0 and not playing well at all in the session Barry Hawkins will be pleased to only trail by two overnight. They resume in the afternoon on Friday.

Betting

I only like the one bet on Friday. That is because the majority of my semi-final bets are in good shape at the minute so I don’t need to go mad but we can’t ignore the fact that Mark Selby had tip troubles on Thursday, so much so that he took his tip off and put another one on.

While he was practicing for long periods on Thursday night to play it in you have to think that it will be an issue if not for the whole session here then at least for the opening four frames. His tip is likely to go soft again having been left overnight. If they resumed in the afternoon that wouldn’t be a problem as he could knock it in during the morning but there won’t be time for that so the 15/8 on Ding Junhui to win the second session is worth a nibble given the information we have at our disposal.

Tips

Back D.Junhui to win 2nd session vs M.Selby for a 3/10 stake at 2.88 with Paddy Power
