The midweek round of fixtures in the Premier League concludes with six more matches on Wednesday evening, a night where the top of the table is under real focus as the top six are all in action.
The twists and turns of the title race are set to continue across these matches while the race for fourth place will have its landscape potentially changed too. One of the games is live on TV in the UK but we all know how to follow the others by now.
Wednesday’s fixtures are as follows: (8pm unless stated)
Arsenal vs Bournemouth (7.45pm)
Southampton vs Fulham (7.45pm)
Chelsea vs Tottenham
Crystal Palace vs Manchester United
Liverpool vs Watford
Manchester City vs West Ham
Big Matches
The biggest match of the night comes from Stamford Bridge where Chelsea host Tottenham in a huge London derby. All eyes will be on the team sheet to see if Kepa is given a start after his nonsense at the weekend in a match Spurs can’t afford to lose if they are to have any chance of being in the title shake up. Above them leaders Liverpool host Watford while Manchester City will look to keep the heat on when they welcome their former manager Manuel Pellegrini and his West Ham side to the Etihad.
The Rest
There is a pretty big game down the bottom of the table when Southampton play host to Fulham in a match neither can really afford to lose. Fulham could be doomed if they do while Southampton will climb out of the bottom three if they win. The other two matches sees Arsenal taking on a Bournemouth side who have been pathetic on the road to the big guns this season, and Crystal Palace host injury ravaged Manchester United.

Betting
I’ll go with two on Wednesday evening. I’m expecting to see goals at the Emirates Stadium where free flowing Arsenal can get stuck into a Bournemouth side missing their defensive shield and one of their mainstays at the heart of their defence. Bournemouth don’t usually need an excuse to go on the attack but attack might be the best form of defence and this Arsenal back line can certainly be got at. Matches between these two have been high scoring in recent times and I see no reason why this one won’t be another despite Bournemouth’s lack of goals on the road recently.
I can’t be having Tottenham Hotspur as outsiders at the Bridge. I know they lost to Burnley on Saturday but that was a stylistic nightmare for Mauricio Pochettino’s men but what they didn’t do was go to extra time and then lose in a cup final against Man City on Sunday. That has to be significant here, especially as it came almost 30hrs after Spurs played in a short turnaround. To be fair even without the scheduling the way it was I’d be on Tottenham here because they are the better side and in better form. Spurs have a point to prove and they can do that here. I’m amazed they are outsiders but I’ll gladly take them with the start on the Asian lines and to win the game.
