The second round of the ATP Miami Open concludes on Saturday and we have some really big names taking to the courts at Crandon Park for the first time this year on what looks to be a very exciting day of tennis.
The likes of Roger Federer, Alexander Zverev, Jack Sock and Kevin Anderson are all on court on Saturday and the support cast is pretty decent too so we should get some high quality action to enjoy.
Day 3 Recap
We lost a couple of big names on Friday when Novak Djokovic and David Goffin were dumped out in straight sets and we nearly lost two more when Grigor Dimitrov and Juan Martin del Potro were both taken to a decider before coming through. There were more routine wins for the likes of Milos Raonic and our outright bet Hyeon Chung.
It was an up and down day for us betting wise. It began fantastically when our big priced punt on Joao Sousa landed when he dropped just one game in demolishing Goffin and it looked good for us with Richard Gasquet too when he won the first four games against Jeremy Chardy. Sadly he only won two more of the next 15 to lose comfortably.

Stadium
The number four seed Alexander Zverev gets the action underway on the main court when he takes on Russian powerhouse Daniil Medvedev. After a women’s match it is then the turn of the number one seed Roger Federer as he begins the defence of his title. He faces Thanasi Kokkinakis. Nick Kyrgios opens up the evening session in the only other men’s match on this court. He plays Dusan Lajovic.
Grandstand
It is a women’s match that gets us underway on the second court but it is men all the way after that. Tomas Berdych takes on Yoshihito Niskioka before Sam Querrey takes to the court to face Radu Albot. A doubles match opens up the evening session before Jack Sock looks to find some form when he meets the Indian player Yuri Bhambri.
Court 1
The young guns take centre stage on this court on Saturday beginning with Denis Shapovalov who opens up the action when he plays Damir Dzumhur. Youngsters Frances Tiafoe and Kyle Edmund face off after that and then comes the semi-finalist from last week in Kevin Anderson. He plays Nikoloz Basilashvili in the final men’s match in this arena.
Best of the Rest
There are still some decent names on show on the outer courts too on Saturday. David Ferrer meets Evgeny Donskoy on Court 2 while Fernando Verdasco, Fabio Fognini and Steve Johnson are all in action on that court as well. Borna Coric and Karen Khachanov are both out on Court 7 along with Pablo Carreno Busta.

Betting
I am amazingly tempted to take on Jack Sock on Saturday but I’m managing to force myself to resist the temptation but there is one bet that I’m going to take to hopefully build on what has been a good start to the tournament.
Kyle Edmund returned from injury last week in Indian Wells when he played his first match since the Australian Open and in fairness he looked very rusty and I think he could be there for the taking on Saturday. He takes on the American player Frances Tiafoe of whom much is expected of. Tiafoe messed up at Indian Wells last week but prior to that he went well at Delray Beach last month when Juan Martin del Potro, Hyeon Chung and Denis Shapovalov were among his victims on his way to the final. Tiafoe had a good win on Thursday and can pick up another over a rusty Edmund who is still playing his way back to full fitness.
