The final day of action in China Open qualifying takes place on Tuesday when those who have not had their matches held over to the venue in Beijing and who haven’t played yet will get the chance to do so.
We’ve seen the majority of the big names make it through the one match they have needed to win so far this week and among those looking to make it into the final stages in Beijing are John Higgins, Ali Carter and The Masters finalist Kyren Wilson.

Morning Session
Stephen Maguire is the main name looking to book his spot in the main draw in this morning session and given that he will have every chance of making the top 16 with a big run in Beijing this is a big game for him. He’ll face James Wattana on one of the main tables with Dominic Dale on the other streamed table. He plays Paul Davison. The other matches in the session sees Noppon Saengkham playing Ken Doherty, Kurt Maflin going up against Ashley Hugill and Mike Dunn facing Mitchell Mann.
Afternoon Session
The Masters finalist Kyren Wilson will look to get that defeat out of his system when he takes on Li Yuan on one of the main tables. Ali Carter will be up against Chinese opposition on the other one. He plays Chen Zifan for a place in the main draw while elsewhere Sam Baird meets Soheil Vahedi and Cao Yupeng plays Kurt Dunham.
Evening Session
We have had to wait a while but we finally get to see John Higgins on the green baize this week. He faces Adam Duffy while his good friend Anthony McGill meets Thor Chuan Leong on the other streamed offering. The other two matches in the session sees Hossein Vafaei going up against Hamza Akbar and Daniel Wells playing Elliot Slessor.

Betting
I’ve had a decent enough week in these qualifiers with four winners from five bets and I’ll close out with two more bets. I like Noppon Saengkham in the morning session. He takes on a Ken Doherty who began the season well by making the semi-finals of the Riga Masters but who has hit the skids a little in recent times. Saengkham has put his season together the opposite way. Early on he couldn’t buy a win but he picked up a couple of wins in Northern Ireland, in the UK and in Scotland and is turning his season around. Doherty recently lost to an amateur in the Irish Senior Masters which doesn’t bode well. Saengkham must be the bet here.
In the evening session I like Elliot Slessor against Daniel Wells. Slessor is another who has really kicked on in the second part of what has gone in the season so far. He made the semi-finals in Northern Ireland where he beat Ronnie O’Sullivan along the way and he was in the last 16 in Scotland before Judd Trump halted him in a decider. He also has a win over Shaun Murphy this season too. His opponent on Tuesday, Daniel Wells, also has a win over Murphy but victories have been much fewer for him than Slessor. Slessor looks like the kind of player who can progress in the game and that can begin with a win here.
