The seeded players join the party in the European Darts Matchplay on Saturday which means that the Hamburg crowds will get to see the likes of Michael van Gerwen, Rob Cross and Daryl Gurney in action for the first time this weekend.
They enter at the last 32 stage with the entire round being played out over two really good looking sessions of action on Saturday. By the end of the day we will know which 16 men are going forward to battle it out for the ninth European Tour title of the campaign.
Afternoon Session
Two solid professionals get us going in the afternoon session when Simon Whitlock takes on Justin Pipe with Jonny Clayton facing Jason Lowe in the match after that. Gerwyn Price follows his Welsh World Cup teammate onto the stage when he plays Maik Langendorf and we head to the interval with Mervyn King looking to build on his tournament win on Wednesday when he plays Paul Rowley.
A juicy looking clash gets us going again after the break when James Wilson takes on Robert Thornton before the home crowds will get excited when Martin Schindler faces Joe Cullen. Kim Huybrechts then battles Chris Dobey before the session concludes with what could be a cracking match between Darren Webster and Luke Humphries.
Evening Session
Steve Beaton is seeded for this event and it will be up to him to get the evening going when he plays Andy Boulton before a great looking match sees Ian White facing the local hero Max Hopp. Danish Open winner Mensur Suljovic is third up on stage when he plays the Russian player Boris Koltsov before Michael van Gerwen is on stage for the first time this weekend. He takes us into the break when he meets Ryan Joyce.
After the interval Daryl Gurney will look to sort out his surprisingly poor form on the European Tour when he takes on Robert Marijanovic before the world champion Rob Cross is on show against Republic of Ireland star Willie O’Connor. Stephen Bunting is up in the penultimate match of the night when he plays Darius Labanauskas before arguably the tie of the round finishes things off as Michael Smith plays Jelle Klaasen.

Betting
There is only one bet that I like over the course of the two sessions and it comes in the afternoon when Chris Dobey takes on Kim Huybrechts. Since the World Cup the Belgian has really struggled which is a bit of a surprise as he looked to find some form in that tournament. He has won just one match in four floor tournaments which clearly is not good.
Worse still for Huybrechts is that he has a 4-1 career deficit against Dobey and partly because of that I like the Englishman here. It isn’t just that reason though. I think Dobey is value at 6/5 anyway especially when you factor that head to head in and when you consider he has had a match on the stage this weekend. Something is clearly wrong with Huybrechts’ game right now and Dobey can take advantage.
Tips
Back C.Dobey to beat K.Huybrechts for a 4/10 stake at 2.20 with Coral
