We are down to the last 16 in the International Championship with all eight matches taking place over the course of two sessions on Wednesday as the biggest event of the snooker season thus far heads towards the business end.
It was a better day for the bigger names on Tuesday which means we have some really tasty clashes to enjoy over the course of Wednesday with half of the matches on display coming on the TV tables which are accessible on TV and online.

Morning Session
The big match of the morning sees two exciting players going right at it when Judd Trump looks to make another major quarter final when he takes on the extremely competitive and top class Chinese youngster Yan Bingtao. The world number one Mark Selby is on the other TV table. He goes up against Stuart Carrington who has made his way through the draw unnoticed.
That means that Jack Lisowski will feature on the outside tables in this first session of the day. He goes up against Martin Gould in what is sure to be an attacking contest with plenty of big breaks. Elsewhere our outright bet Dave Gilbert faces Martin O’Donnell on an outside table.
Afternoon Session
Two former World Championship finalists meet in the big match of the afternoon session when local star Ding Junhui looks to make it through against Matthew Stevens who is doing his ranking no harm at all so far. That is on one of the TV tables while on the other one the Australian star Neil Robertson takes on another Chinese player in Yuan Sijun.
Two household names are in action on the outside tables in this session. Our other outright bet, Masters champion Mark Allen, faces the lowest ranked player left in the competition in Alfie Burden while on the other outside table Ali Carter has sneaked into the last 16 and he will take on the man who has already dumped out the world champion Mark Williams, in Sunny Akani.

Betting
In the morning session I like the look of Jack Lisowski to come through with a little bit in hand. He has been one of the stars of the season so far and has overcome two classy opponents with a flurry of big breaks this week. Gould hasn’t really hit the heights we would expect from him just yet although he did have a good win over Barry Hawkins on Tuesday. Gould is going to be under a lot of pressure here though. He goes for his shots but the way Lisowski is scoring if Gould misses he may not get another chance in the frame. That mental pressure can see Lisowski through no worse than 6-4.
Two men who have scored well meet on one of the outside tables in the second session when Alfie Burden takes on Mark Allen. Burden has pumped in two solid centuries in his two wins to date and Allen has slammed in five very big centuries in the tournament so far. Both men would probably relish the chance to open the balls up and play an open and attacking match here which should see their good scoring continue. I like the idea of over 1.5 centuries in this encounter.
