After a washout in the Mzansi Super League we have a double header of action in the tournament on Wednesday as four sides look to enhance their position in the league table ahead of pushing for a place in the latter stages.
The top two sit the double header out which means the four sides chasing the third spot in the table have the chance to take control of the situation. Losing will make qualifying for the final stages very difficult so we should be in for a cracking day of action.
Tshwane Spartans vs Jozi Stars
The opening match sees the team on bottom of the pile in Tshwane Spartans taking on third placed Jozi Stars who have a chance to steal a march on everyone else in the match which takes place at SuperSport Park in Centurion.
The Spartans have flattered to deceive in the tournament to date with just one win from their opening four matches and they need to turn that form around pretty quickly if they are to maintain chances of progressing. The Stars only have won win as well but they have played a match less and their victory was resounding enough to get the bonus point.
I’ve not been impressed with the Spartans at any point in the competition and I think the Stars have the tools to win this match. I expect them to kick on now that Kagiso Rabada and Reeza Hendricks are back. Tshwane are short of genuine top class bowling options which can go against them here.

Durban Heat vs Paarl Rocks
The sides in fourth and fifth in the table meet in the second match of the day when the Durban Heat take on a Paarl Rocks side who should be full of confidence after picking up their first win of the tournament last time out.
The schedule favoured the Rocks in that match however, with Cape Town Blitz backing up a tough match the day before and in truth the Blitz looked knackered in that match. Durban should be doing a whole lot better than they are but they have had the wake up call that they needed and on home soil they should give their best.
Dwayne Bravo is a huge loss for Paarl and I think they look light with the ball. That is something that Durban don’t look and if their batting can play sensibly and they take their chances I expect the Heat to be too good here.
