North Group

The TV game comes from the North Group as Yorkshire take on Birmingham Bears with all eyes on the home teamsheet to see if Adil Rashid is on it after a controversial 24hrs. The match of the night in the North sees the table topping Lancashire Lightning heading to Trent Bridge to take on Nottinghamshire with the other two games seeing Worcestershire travelling to Wantage Road to face Northamptonshire and Leicestershire welcoming Derbyshire to Grace Road.

South Group

There are three matches in the South Group on Friday and they actually begin in the afternoon where Gloucestershire host Glamorgan at Cheltenham. The leaders Kent are in action on Friday when they host the Sussex Sharks at Canterbury with the other match seeing Surrey taking on Somerset at The Oval.

Match Betting

There is only one match bet which catches my eye across this set of matches and that comes with Derbyshire in their trip to Leicestershire. We saw on the TV just how good a side Derbyshire can be and while Leicestershire have won three matches they are still leaking too many runs for my liking. We saw there is pace and bounce in the Grace Road track which should suit this Derbyshire attack nicely and after they found some form with the bat last time out I’m expecting them to follow up that win here.

Side Markets Betting

I’m taking three in the side markets with the first one coming in the TV game where I’m expecting the boundaries to flow. Almost every match Birmingham Bears have played this season have been high scoring with their powerful batting line up piling up the runs but their attack leaking them badly and I expect that to be the case here. It would be nice if Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow were available but even without them Yorkshire have enough in their batting to find the fence a few times. Birmingham certainly do so over 40.5 boundaries is the way to go there.

I’m expecting the runs to flow at Northampton too. We saw just how good the wicket is at Wantage Road in the TV game there last week and nothing is going to have changed since then with the lack of rain around. Worcestershire have already piled on the runs against Northants this season and generally when these two meet in this competition the runs flow. On a rock hard batting wicket I’m expecting another mountain of runs to compliment the 437, 380 and 391 runs we’ve seen on this ground so far.

Rory Kleinveldt has a low looking performance line for this match too at 28.5. He is a true all-rounder who will bowl his four overs, at the start of the innings and at the death, and he will come in to bat whether it is to club a few and accelerate the scoring or whether it is down the order in his natural position in the innings. He is also being used in popular areas in the outfield too so I’m expecting this line to be covered either with a good day in either facet or a combination of points on an average day in all of them.
