2019-20 Premier League – Final Day Matches Tips, TV and Betting Preview

The Premier League season finally draws to a close on Sunday, almost exactly a year after it started, and it will do so by determining the make up of the top four and which two sides will join Norwich City in the Championship next term.

While there are some dead rubbers on Sunday, there are a number of fixtures with carry plenty of significance and have a lot riding on them on a day where all 10 matches are live on UK TV across many channels.

Sunday’s fixtures are as follows: (UK TV in brackets)

Arsenal v Watford (Sky Premier League)

Burnley v Brighton & Hove Albion (Sky Sports Arena)

Chelsea v Wolverhampton Wanderers (Sky Football)

Crystal Palace v Tottenham Hotspur (Sky Sports Action)

Everton v AFC Bournemouth (Sky Sports Golf)

Leicester City v Manchester United (Sky Sports Main Event)

Manchester City v Norwich City (Sky 1 & Pick)

Newcastle United v Liverpool (BT Sport 2)

Southampton v Sheffield United (Sky Sports Mix)

West Ham United v Aston Villa (BT Sport 1)

Big Matches

In terms of the race for the Champions League, the biggest match of the day comes from the King Power Stadium where Leicester City and Manchester United are in what could be a straight shootout for a top four spot. Leicester sit outside the elite going into the afternoon so they know they have to win to be playing Champions League football next season. A draw will get Man Utd in. Chelsea are the other team in top four contention and they’ll stay in the top four if they match whatever result Leicester get or better United’s one.

Best of the Rest

It isn’t all about the top four on Sunday though. There is a right ding dong at the bottom of the table with three sides bidding to be the ones to avoid being relegated into the Championship. Aston Villa are currently above the line and if they win at West Ham United they should be the ones to survive. Watford are third from bottom and they’ll be looking to get a better result at Arsenal than what Villa get. Should both Aston Villa and Watford lose, Bournemouth could be the ones to survive if they can mastermind a victory away to Everton. The other match with something on it is the one at Selhurst Park where Tottenham Hotspur will be chasing a Europa League space when they take on Crystal Palace. Spurs need to better Wolves’ result to be playing in Europe next season.

Betting

I’ll finish the campaign with a couple of bets with the first of them coming in the main match at the King Power Stadium where I’m expecting to see over 2.5 goals when Leicester City take on Manchester United. Leicester have big problems defensively with players out injured or suspended and so at some point they are going to need to get on the front foot and attack. There are a few mistakes creeping into the United back line in recent times with their schedule beginning to catch up with them. Both sides have plenty of quality attackers to take advantage of that so I expect to see three goals in this one at the very least.

The other bet I like is for Everton to see off Bournemouth. This is a match that Bournemouth have to win but if it wasn’t for that there is no way we would be getting odds against on Everton. I like the home side here though. Only three teams have won at Goodison Park this season and if there were any fears that the Toffees would hit the beach with nothing to play for they were put to bed on Monday evening when they won at Sheffield United. Bournemouth are second from bottom for good reason and one of the reasons why is because they have picked up just 10pts away from the Vitality Stadium all season, and two of their three wins were in their opening three away games of the campaign. Everton don’t lose at home very often, Bournemouth are terrible away and have a raft of defensive injury issues. It is the home side for me here albeit with the draw cover the Asian lines offer.
