2019-20 Premier League – Sunday 15th December Matches Tips and Betting Preview

The Premier League weekend continues on Sunday with three matches, of which two of them look pretty big although maybe not quite as significant as they once were in the overall proceedings, on what should be a decent day of football in the top flight.

Two of the three matches are live on the TV for those of us who are in the UK and there are a number of ways of keeping up to date with the other one as well so we can get stuck in with the ability of tracking everything!

Manchester United vs Everton (14.00)

The opening match in front of the cameras sees Manchester United hosting Everton in a game which traditionally you would have expected the home side to win with a little bit of ease, but now that assurance is no longer there.

To be fair to United though, if they have a look at the away record of Everton this season they should gain immediate confidence as they go about picking up an important home win to close in on the top four, which amazingly is not yet out of reach for them despite their inconsistency. Everton gave themselves a little bit of breathing space at the bottom of the table last year and it will be interesting to see which tune Duncan Ferguson gets out of them on their travels. There are a few too many question marks to interest me in a bet here.

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Tottenham Hotspur (14.00)

The one match away from the live cameras in the UK comes from Molineux where there is a battle of the Portuguese managers as Wolverhampton Wanderers take on Tottenham Hotspur as Nuno Espirito Santo and Jose Mourinho lock horns in a game both will be eager to win.

The winner of this one will be in the top six at the end of the weekend and that is a pretty significant motivation for them to get the job done. This will be a good test of where Tottenham are under Mourinho, and also of what we can expect from Wolves over the second half of the campaign, particularly as this match comes after a Europa League game, of which they will hope there are a lot more of this term. This is another match where nothing really stands out betting wise in what looks a tightly matched contest.

Arsenal vs Manchester City (16.30)

The pick of the matches in the afternoon is the last one to kick off as Manchester City look to showcase how good they can be once again when they go to an Arsenal side who look extremely vulnerable but do at least have a win to build on.

Arsenal fans could be forgiven for being concerned heading into this match. While they beat West Ham last week there was nothing that was convincing about it and they get City at a time when they are on a downer and with a point to prove which isn’t going to help them. City don’t like losing and their derby defeat will have eaten away at them all week even allowing for their win in the Champions League.

Whichever way you look at this match, neither of these teams can defend so there is no way that this one is not going to be open and attacking. Even if it isn’t there will be enough mistakes for goals to flow naturally in this one. It isn’t like either team can suddenly park the bus or shut up shop and I’m not sure either would want to even if they could. Over 3.5 goals looks an obvious play here.
