Preview

Two of these four matches are live on TV in the UK and two will need to be watched elsewhere or on the many highlight offerings that do the rounds these days. The first of the live games will see Leicester City and their response to Liverpool winning on Saturday when they head across the midlands to take on Aston Villa. The other live game comes from the Amex Stadium where Brighton and Hove Albion will look to build on their win over Arsenal on Thursday night, when they host a Wolverhampton Wanderers side who are in excellent touch right now.

Away from the cameras, two sides who had wins in midweek will meet at St James’ Park when Southampton make the humungous journey to take on a Newcastle United side for whom the immediate doom and gloom, on the pitch at least, appears to have lifted a little. The other match sees the Championship top two last season meeting at Carrow Road when Norwich City host Sheffield United.

Betting

Leicester City were on my radar but they are a little short to my eye now so I’ll go with just the one bet over the course of the afternoon, which actually comes in the last of the four matches to kick off as Brighton and Hove Albion host Wolverhampton Wanderers in a match where I’m not sure the visitors are getting as much credit as perhaps they deserve here.

Brighton have won three home matches this season but I’m not sure the two against Norwich City and Everton count for much and even the win over Spurs which looks good, came when Spurs were in their down period and were rocked by the early injury to their goalkeeper. Wolves have only lost one match on the road this season and while that was something of a shock at Goodison Park, we’ve seen that isn’t the easiest place to go. Generally Wolves are good on their travels and enjoy playing sides who look to come at them, as surely Brighton will do here. When you factor in that Brighton put a right hard shift in on Thursday night in beating Arsenal, there is enough to merit a bet on the Molineux side on the draw no bet market.
