2019 Dutch Darts Masters – Last 16 Betting Preview

The Sutch Darts Masters draws to a close on Sunday with the last 16 through to the final played out on what should be a belting day of darts as the seventh European Tour event of the season concludes with some big stars on show.

The last 16 will take place in the afternoon session with the remainder of the tournament being in the evening session. After a couple of winners on Saturday we are going to get stuck into the last 16 but obviously time restrictions will deny us the chance to preview anything beyond that.

First Four Matches

Often in sport there is the tendency to save the best for last but that is not the case on Sunday as the pick of the matches comes first as the Dutch stars Michael van Gerwen and Raymond van Barneveld go at it to get the action underway. They are followed by Dave Chisnall and Ricky Evans who are unlikely to hang around. Glen Durrant is then on the stage when he takes on Dennis Nilsson and the final match before the interval sees Gerwyn Price meeting the veteran Brendan Dolan in a match which could well be repeat at the World Cup soon.

Later Four Matches

Our pre-tournament pick Ian White is still going strong and he’ll get play back underway after the interval when he goes up against the home man Jermaine Wattimena before another Dutchman looks to make it through to the quarter finals when Vincent van der Voort goes up against Max Hopp. The last two matches on the afternoon card seed Peter Wright playing Simon Whitlock and Mervyn King meeting Rowby-John Rodriguez for the final place in the last eight.

Betting

After bagging a couple of decent priced winners on Saturday, I’m not going too mad on Sunday. I’ll just try and top up the winnings with the one bet which comes in one of the later matches where Vincent van der Voort goes up against Max Hopp in a match where I believe the odds are the wrong way round, therefore I’m happy to be on the outsider.

Hopp saw off Joe Cullen on Saturday but Cullen near enough did a no show he was so poor so what we learned from that I’m not entirely sure. The one thing we do know is that van der Voort looked in good touch on Saturday. He averaged a shade over 96 against a Mensur Suljovic who must be the worst opponent for him in terms of the clash in styles so in essence the Dutchman was probably good for a few more points on that average. If he can repeat that performance and use the home crowd to his advantage he can show that the 6/5 quotes on him are all wrong.

Tips

WON – Back V.van der Voort to beat M.Hopp for a 4/10 stake at 2.20 with William Hill
