The second day of action at the newly formed Tour Championship sees the quarter finals coming to an end inside Venue Cymru in Llandudno on Wednesday, and at the end of the day we will know the four men doing battle in the semi-finals.
Neil Robertson was the first man to make it through to the last four, when he outlasted world number one Mark Selby on Tuesday, and three more men will join him on what promises to be a top day of action on Wednesday.
In Play Matches
Two matches have played their first sessions on Tuesday and will conclude on Wednesday. The first of those sees Judd Trump taking on the world champion Mark Williams with the pair locked at 4-4. Williams was probably marginally the better of the two men on Tuesday so Trump will probably be delighted to come out level, and I suspect he will go on and win this match with a little in hand from here on in. He is scoring the better of the two and I think that can be the difference in the end. You can get 10/11 that Trump wins 9-7 or easier. I expect him to do that now.
In the other match, Ronnie O’Sullivan has opened up a 6-2 lead on a Stuart Bingham, who as I suspected heading into the match just does not believe he can beat the Rocket. Bingham keeps on making mistakes against O’Sullivan that he would never make against anyone else. He has no chance of coming back from that deficit but I’m a touch wary that Ronnie can labour in front so I’ll avoid betting on this one.

Mark Allen vs Kyren Wilson
The one remaining quarter final to begin does so on Wednesday when the number one seed Mark Allen takes on the man he beat to win The Masters last year in the form of Kyren Wilson, the lowest seed in the competition this week.
Since Allen beat Wilson in that Ally Pally final, Wilson has won their three meetings but I suspect this is where the Allen revival comes. Wilson is undergoing some technical changes to his game and his form has been inconsistent as a result of that. Allen isn’t flying like he was earlier in the campaign by any means, but he is slowly getting back into groove and would surely love another crack at O’Sullivan later in the tournament to put that Players Championship semi behind him.
Bookmakers have Allen as the favourite in this match but he is only a narrow one. I’m happy to take the Ulsterman here though. I think his game is in better order, and if he finds his very best form then he could take a lot of stopping here. We’ve seen these tables play lovely so far. That plays into Allen’s hands and that’s where my money is going too.
