Preview

The action begins down in the south where Brighton and Hove Albion host the champions Liverpool who are clearly not impressed with the fact they have the early kick off based on the comments being made by their manager in recent times. Brighton had a good win against Aston Villa last week and will look to build on that. When that match is done the former champions Manchester City are in action in a rare Saturday 3pm encounter for them. They host a Burnley team who finally got up and running in terms of wins on Monday night.

As ever the pick of the matches, from an entertainment point of view at least, comes in the third match of the day where the early pacesetters Everton welcome a very attractive to watch Leeds United to Goodison Park in what should be a game full of attacking intent. The day is rounded off with that huge clash at the foot of the table when the bottom two meet as West Brom host Sheffield United at The Hawthorns with both sides looking for their first win of the season in a game neither can afford to lose.

Betting

I’ll go with the one bet over the course of the piece on Saturday and it comes in that third match where there will surely be plenty of goal action in the match between Everton and Leeds United, much of which I am expecting to be converted between two sides who know where the net is but who equally know how to leak a few goals as well. The beauty of this match is we know how both teams are going to play. They are not teams who change their game to account for the opposition.

Leeds United play to this high tempo which is hard to maintain but equally as hard to contain but if they are vulnerable it is to technical players and a pacey attack and that is exactly what Everton have in droves so I’m expecting an end to end cracker here. Neither goalkeeper has necessarily covered themselves in glory this term which could be important but most importantly the goal line for this match is only 3. Only one Everton match since the opening day has not had three goals in it while the only Leeds away game not to have three came at Sheffield United who are awful. Goals should come naturally here.
