Preview
The action begins with a humdinger of a match at the bottom of the table which might not have the same importance as it would have if Fulham had won on Friday night but is still massive. The winners will put some decent distance between themselves and Fulham while the losers will still be deep in trouble. Once that is done it is the other end of the table that takes the focus with the race for the top four in the spotlight starting with West Ham United going up against Leicester City in what looks like a potentially great game.
The third match of the day is the best of them on paper as Manchester United look to consolidate second place in the league table when they make the trip to the capital to take on a Tottenham Hotspur team who look on the fringes of running out of gas, but have had the week off to sort that out. The final match of the day sees Sheffield United looking to prolong the inevitable when they host an Arsenal side for whom the storm clouds are beginning to circle above.
Betting
I’ll go with the one bet over the course of the day on Sunday and that comes in the second match where West Ham United go up against Leicester City in what I’m expecting to be an entertaining contest and one which should serve up a few goals. West Ham won the reverse fixture 3-0 which is likely to fire up Leicester a little bit but with this being a huge game for both sides all this one needs is an early goal to be fired into life nicely.
Leicester have only kept one clean sheet in their last seven matches, which barely counts as it was against Sheffield United, whereas West Ham have nearly coughed up 3-0 leads in their last two matches and are without their defensive shield in Declan Rice for this match. There is an intent to score goals among both sides and thankfully this isn’t a match that David Moyes can sit back and shut up the shop in after the wins for Liverpool and Chelsea on Saturday. We should see plenty of attacking football in this one and hopefully at least three goals.
