2020-21 Premier League – Tuesday 15th December Tips, TV and Betting Preview

We have a midweek round of matches in the Premier League and they get underway on Tuesday night when the first two of the games get played out on what could be a significant evening in the battle for the title come the end of the season.

As with all the matches in the top flight these days both of these matches are available to be viewed with those who subscribe to the broadcaster so it feels like the sort of evening to sit back with your feet up and watch a decent night of football.

Where to watch

Both the matches will be shown live on the Amazon Prime Video streaming service. The lead up to the games begins at 5.30pm with the kick offs coming at 6pm and 8pm.

Wolverhampton Wanderers vs Chelsea (18.00)

The opening match of this round of fixtures comes from Molineux where Wolverhampton Wanderers will look to make up for their agonising late loss to Aston Villa at the weekend when they host a Chelsea team who were also beaten on Saturday.

The Chelsea defeat at Everton was surprising but it wasn’t the worst loss in the world given that the Toffees are a pretty good side on their own patch. Even then had one of the three Blues efforts that hit the post gone in it might have been a different story. Wolves are more of a concern to me. They looked very light up front with Raul Jimenez let alone without him and they are missing one of their creative forces in Joao Moutinho here after his sending off on Saturday.

Chelsea might be a short price but I think it is with good reason and I think they’ll win this match. Wolves’ lack of goals is an issue I’ve had with them all season and their switching to a back four is affecting their defensive tightness. Chelsea have only lost to the Merseyside clubs this season and with their squad depth and everything else I think they can run out winners in this contest, whether it is narrowly or with a bit in hand.

Manchester City vs West Bromwich Albion (20.00)

The second of the two matches on Tuesday sees the former champions Manchester City hosting struggling West Bromwich Albion for whom just surviving in the Premier League this term would be a fantastic achievement.

City disappointed many with their part in a pretty awful Manchester derby at the weekend but you get the feeling that the fallout from that game might fire them up to deliver one of their home beatings here and they might well have the perfect opponents to feast on. West Brom are struggling. They have only won one match all season – against the only team below them in the table in Sheffield United and they were mighty fortunate to win that. Nobody has conceded more goals than West Brom and when you consider they haven’t played either Liverpool or Manchester City yet that doesn’t look good.

I expect a big home win here but I expected that against Fulham recently and it never materialised so instead I’ll keep a big City win onside by taking a player to score anytime in Phil Foden. Foden wasn’t used at all in the derby at the weekend so you would think he will see a good amount of game time here and will get into a number of key positions as a result. That makes me think the 13/10 on him finding the net is a little on the larger side.
