The action in the Premier League continues on Tuesday evening when another five matches take place with 10 teams playing their final fixture of what has been a very strange 2020, a year they’ll all hope to end on a high.
We have to wait until Wednesday night before we see the leaders in action but there are a number of the chasing pack who take to the pitch on Tuesday, on what looks like being a very competitive card with the five games on offer.

Preview
The pick of the matches in the early kick off in terms of league positions is the one at St Mary’s Stadium where Southampton will be looking to move into the top four when they play host to West Ham United. It feels like a big evening at the bottom of the table as well with Burnley hosting Sheffield United and Brighton and Hove Albion welcoming Arsenal to the Amex Stadium. West Bromwich Albion take on Leeds United in another big game at the bottom of the pile.
The late kick off comes from Old Trafford where Manchester United are going to need to turn their home environment into a fortress if they are going to lead themselves into a title challenge. They play host to a Wolverhampton Wanderers side who in terms of their performances aren’t really impressing me at the minute but are still getting results and doing so against some of the better opponents in the league.
Betting
This isn’t a great night to bet on in my eyes as there are a lot of matches which look tight and tense. One game which might not be like that though is the one which features Southampton and West Ham United where the Saints could have a couple of advantages. The first of them is that they are at home, in better form and the better of the two sides in my eyes but perhaps more significantly at this time of year they have had an extra 24 hours to recover from their last outing.
West Ham really haven’t convinced me in the last few matches. Their only win in their last five was against a Leeds side who probably played into their hands a little whereas in their last two matches they were not at the races against Chelsea and downright awful against Brighton. You don’t get any joy out of Southampton if you are not bang at it but with the Monday game leading into Christmas and Sunday to Tuesday you’ve got to think the Hammers might be a little off the pace here. With the draw cover that is welcome at this time of the year I like the Saints here.
