The midweek action in the Premier League continues on Wednesday evening when another three matches take place with events at the bottom as well as the race for the top four form much of the attention across the night.
As we are getting used to now, all three of the matches are live on the respective broadcasters of the competition in the UK, although two do clash with each other so you will need a second device to keep up with everything that is going on.
Burnley vs Leicester City (18.00 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)
The first of the two early kick offs on Wednesday evening comes from Turf Moor where Burnley will be looking to get back on the horse and pick their form up again when they host a Leicester City side, who themselves could do with a result just to ease any panic setting in to their fanbase.
Burnley have only won one of their last five matches so they haven’t been able to pull anywhere near as far away from danger as they would have liked given that Fulham have picked up form in that time. The Clarets tend to be tough to beat at home though and they might feel that they get Leicester at a good time here. The visitors have looked a tired team over the last week or so with injuries clearly not helping them out at all. This feels like a match best left alone.

Sheffield United vs Aston Villa (18.00 – BT Sport 1)
The other early kick off sees Sheffield United hosting Aston Villa in another match where both sides would like to pick up a result for their respective needs. Sheffield United need wins now to avoid dropping back into the Championship while Villa could yet push for Europe if they can keep winning.
I keep expected Sheffield United to free up, open up and have a go given that they are getting relegated quite tamely the way they are going, but they just don’t seem to have it in them. I still fear that though. This might be a time they do it because Aston Villa are missing their star man Jack Grealish and although they beat Leeds United in his absence, they look nothing like the same side without him. Those factors alone make me happy enough to swerve this contest.
Crystal Palace vs Manchester United (20.15 – Sky Main Event & Sky Premier League)
The later match comes from Selhurst Park where Manchester United will be looking to consolidate their top four hopes when they make the trip to the capital to take on a Crystal Palace side who are still talking about getting to 40pts as soon as possible even though there is no chance that many will be needed to stay in the division.
Palace have been up and down all season but it will be refreshing for them to know that they can get results without Wilfried Zaha, having won and drawn their last two matches. They have both been against sides below them in the table though so this will be a much tougher test of their credentials. This is a big night for Manchester United, who have been a lot better away from Old Trafford than they have at their home ground this term, but who have shown signs of struggling to break down a low press a few times this season.
That was certainly the case recently when they drew with Sheffield United and having shipped seven here against Liverpool and with no Zaha to cause problems I don’t expect Palace to set up to open up and have a go by any means. United have the Manchester derby at the weekend which might see one or two key names rested for this encounter which in turn might make them a little less dangerous. This all points to a game of few goals in my eyes so under 2.5 will do me here.
