2020-21 Sky Bet Championship – Saturday 12th December Tips, TV and Betting Preview

It is a rare day on Saturday where all 24 sides are in action in the Championship and those sides compete for three more valuable points as the lead up to the important Christmas period begins with a tough looking fixture list.

Big Matches

The televised clash on Saturday afternoon is the battle of Wales as arch rivals Cardiff City host Swansea City in an encounter which is probably ruined by it being played behind closed doors. You’d think it would be extremely competitive and feisty on the pitch though. Elsewhere the leaders Norwich City face a very tricky trip to Ewood Park to take on a side in Blackburn Rovers that regular readers will know I’m very keen on this season. Second placed Bournemouth play host to Huddersfield Town.

Best of the Rest

Watford in third go on their travels on Saturday afternoon when they head up to St Andrews to take on a Birmingham City side who have found a bit of form suddenly. Reading and Bristol City at the other members of the top six and they travel to QPR and Rotherham United respectively. At the other end of the table bottom of the pile Sheffield Wednesday host Yorkshire rivals Barnsley while second bottom Wycombe Wanderers welcome Coventry City to Adams Park. Derby County look to continue their undefeated run when they host Stoke City.

Betting

I’ll go with the one bet over the course of these matches which comes up at the Riverside where I expect Neil Warnock to get a response out of his Middlesbrough side when they entertain a struggling Millwall side who are finding wins hard to come by on and off the pitch. There is a lot going on at Millwall right now and the events from the stands last week haven’t really helped matters I wouldn’t have thought.

Millwall are finding wins hard to come by. They haven’t won in nine matches and while they have drawn six of those I’m not convinced they are going to get a lot of joy from a fired up Middlesbrough, whose home and away form contrasts massively. With that in mind I’m prepared to put the midweek shambles behind them and expect them to get something much more substantial out of themselves here. You can get the draw cover that is needed and still get a decent enough price on Middlesbrough to win so that is my Saturday interest.

Tips

WON – Back Middlesbrough (-0.25AH) to beat Millwall for a 3/10 stake at 1.97 with BetVictor
