Preview
The action begins with a couple of televised matches as Norwich City go in search of the Sky Bet Championship title when they host the side closest to them in the table in Watford. A Norwich win crowns them champions while Watford will want the three points in case a charge ever comes from the chasers for second spot. One of those chasers will be in action at the same time as Brentford host Cardiff City in a match the home side simply have to win if they want to claim automatic promotion.
The other team will in the hunt for second spot are Swansea City and they will hope to launch one last chance at glory when they welcome Queens Park Rangers to the Liberty Stadium in one of the three later games to kick off. It is also a big night at the bottom of the table where Sheffield Wednesday could be the first team to depart the division if they lose their home match against Blackburn Rovers and Derby County go to Preston North End and win.
Betting
I’ll go with the one bet which comes in that top of the table clash at Carrow Road where I expect Norwich City to win the title in style. I saw Watford with my own eyes at the weekend and truly terrible wouldn’t do their performance at Kenilworth Road justice. They were awful and if Luton are making them look that bad Norwich have the artillery to make them look woeful, as they have most sides in the competition this season.
Norwich lost to Bournemouth on Saturday but we can allow them that as results earlier in the day had guaranteed their promotion. They’ve had time to get that jubilance out of their system and focus on going up in style. Watford, for all their form prior to their humbling at the weekend, have only won a third of their away matches this season and when you boil that down further they have only beaten one top 10 side on their travels. Saturday was the first time Norwich have lost at home since their second home match of the season and there were certainly factors in play in that loss. It all spells a home win here for me.
