Big Matches

The two televised matches in front of the red button sees the champions of two years ago Norwich City looking for successive wins for the first time this season when they host a Birmingham City side who will be looking for their second win of the campaign. The other match comes from the New Den where the two teams either side of the play-off line meet as Millwall host Luton Town with a spot in the top three potentially the reward for the winners.

Best of the Rest

Elsewhere there is a second against second from bottom clash at the Madejski Stadium when Reading host Wycombe Wanderers in the later of the matches to kick off. Chris Hughton will be looking for successive victories as Forest manager when his side host Rotherham United while Huddersfield Town will take on a Derby County side who will be without Wayne Rooney. The other two matches sees the leaders Bristol City going up against Middlesbrough while Coventry City welcome Swansea City to St Andrews.

Betting

I’ll go with a couple of bets on Tuesday evening with the first of them coming in the form of Nottingham Forest to beat Rotherham United. Rotherham are back at second tier level but they’ve shown the last two times that they have been here that they don’t really belong at this level. Their only win since promotion was on the opening day at Wycombe Wanderers and that win isn’t really looking all that great, not that it really did at the time in truth. Nottingham Forest were terrible at the start of the season but the move to bring in Chris Hughton always looked a good one and it yielded immediate dividends on Saturday when they won at a Blackburn side who I really rate. With Kamil Grosicki to come into the side there should be a much better output in this Forest team and if they have hopes of doing anything this season these are the matches they have to win.

Reading have started the season brilliantly well and aren’t conceding too many goals which is the catalyst to their early success. They take on a Wycombe Wanderers side who are struggling to score goals and haven’t picked up a single point on their maiden season at this level so I don’t think we are stretching the imagination too much to suggest that the home win is a good thing here. Reading lost their 100% record on Saturday but a draw away to Middlesbrough isn’t a terrible result. Wycombe were improved against Millwall but teams who get promoted tend to really struggle to back up performances in quick succession at this level and that is the real fear for Wycombe here. I think Reading will get back to winning ways in style here.
