There is no relenting in the Championship schedule this season and the hectic pace continues on Tuesday evening when half of the division take to the pitch once again to battle it out for another big three points in what is a typically congested table.
It is a night where the leaders are in action as well as a couple of big sides and with two of the matches live on TV in the UK and the others sat behind the red button there is no need to miss a single kick.
Tuesday’s fixtures are as follows: (7.45pm unless stated; Red Button unless stated)
Barnsley v Queens Park Rangers (7pm)
Blackburn Rovers v Reading
Brentford v Norwich City
Middlesbrough v Coventry City
Swansea City v Stoke City (Sky Sports Arena)
Wycombe Wanderers v Watford (Sky Main Event & Sky Football)

The two televised matches on the main channels offer up different looking contests. The one on the two big channels sees a Wycombe Wanderers side, who would be bottom of the table were it not for the point deduction of Sheffield Wednesday, hosting a Watford team who sit third in the table. The other game sees the two teams immediately outside the play-off places battling it out when Swansea City host Stoke City in a clash between two former Premier League teams who will be looking to get back there this term.
The leaders Reading are in one of the other four matches on the night. They face a trip to Ewood Park to take on free scoring Blackburn Rovers in what might be the match of the night. If that one isn’t then it could come from London where the two pre-season title favourites meet as Brentford host Norwich City. The early kick off sees Barnsley going in search of a first win of the season when they welcome QPR to Oakwell and Middlesbrough taking on Coventry City.
Betting
I’ll go with the one bet over the course of the first evening of midweek action and it comes from up at the Riverside where I’m expecting Middlesbrough to see off Coventry City. Coventry were always going to be up against it a little this season and although their start hasn’t been terrible they are being found out a little with their only win to date coming against a QPR side that I personally don’t rate at all and as such that isn’t really a victory which holds much in the way of form.
The struggle might be even more apparent here because the Sky Blues played more than 75 minutes with 10 men on Saturday and there might be some tired legs as a result of that. They won’t have the squad for wholesale rotation either. Middlesbrough aren’t winning many matches this season but because of their strong defence they aren’t losing many either however this is very much a match they should be winning and I’m sure Neil Warnock will have his charges fired up to do exactly that. I’d be very surprised if Boro don’t win this one.
