The Easter schedule in the Championship concludes on Tuesday evening when the final two matches take place and they both carry plenty of significance at both ends of the table, on a night which could be defining to the overall outcome.
One of the matches has been saved for a televised offering while the other will need to be viewed on the club streaming services or followed on social media. It is a night where drama and tension is almost guaranteed as we head towards the end of the season.
Brentford vs Birmingham City (19.00)
The opening match of the evening is probably the bigger of the two as promotion chasing Brentford play host to a Birmingham City side who have shown signs of life in recent times but who still need to keep picking up points if they are to beat the drop.
Things are in danger of going very pear-shaped for Brentford. They have seen Watford move 10 points clear of them in the race for second place but the Londoners do have a couple of games in hand and the two sides still have to meet but we are now getting into must win territory for the Bees if they are to chase down the Hornets. Birmingham have won two of their last three under Lee Bowyer and they’ll move up a few places with a win here but ultimately they are not a great side which puts me off backing them. Brentford should win this one but they can’t be trusted right now either so this is a no bet match for me.

Norwich City vs Huddersfield Town (19.45 – Sky Main Event & Sky Football)
The second match of the evening is the televised offering as runaway leaders Norwich City host a Huddersfield Town side whose relegation concerns have eased in recent weeks but the threat still hasn’t gone away completely.
Norwich go into the match knowing they are 10 points away from an immediate return to the Premier League and will be expected to get three points against a side who are a good level below them if not more than that. Huddersfield have recovered their equilibrium in recent weeks and have avoided defeat in four of their last five matches but they have only won once in that time. While they held Brentford at home on Saturday, their biggest problem this term has been their away form. A recent win at QPR ended a run of 12 without a win on their travels but they duly reverted to type in their last away game when they failed to beat Sheffield Wednesday.
Norwich have only lost one of their last 18 matches but they have drawn their last two which will have annoyed them somewhat. They are the best side in this league by far though and having had the extra day to recover their poise and get everyone back from international duty and fully firing I expect them to be far too good for a Huddersfield side who have spent the season flattering to deceive on their travels.
