Preview

We have to wait until the second part of the evening for the televised match to come alone as Preston North End host Queens Park Rangers in a match which will see both teams looking to come further clear of the relegation zone. Three of the top seven are also on show in the later kick offs. There is a particularly interesting game at the Vitality Stadium where AFC Bournemouth host Cardiff City in a match where the winner will end the night in the top six. Watford have drawn level on points with Brentford in the race for automatic promotion and will look to overtake them when they head north to face Blackburn Rovers.

Earlier in the evening two other automatic promotion chasers are in action. Brentford currently occupy second spot in the table and will be looking to end a bad couple of weeks when they host a Sheffield Wednesday side who sit in the bottom three starting the night. Swansea City are the other side with promotion aspirations on show on Wednesday evening. They host Coventry City at the Liberty Stadium with the other match seeing Barnsley welcoming Stoke City to Oakwell.

Betting

I’ll go with the one bet which is on Swansea City to bounce back from their mauling at Huddersfield on Saturday when they host Coventry City at the Liberty Stadium. Swansea were not helped by injuries in that match and the one to Jordan Morris was particularly nasty with him now back in America. He only arrived in January though and while he was a missing piece in the jigsaw, the Swansea season wasn’t exactly broken prior to his arrival.

I think they will enjoy home comforts here. They are unbeaten in 12 on their own patch whereas as has been highlighted before, Coventry are not the best travellers in the division. They’ve only won two away matches all season and have lost four of their last five. The one they didn’t lose in that run was to Birmingham City which was on what is their home ground this term which barely counts. Coventry had a good win over Brentford on Saturday but a trip to Wales is a tough assignment and one I think they’ll come up short in.
