2021 World Championship Snooker – Day 10 Tips and Betting Preview

The quarter final line up will be finalised at the World Championship on Monday when the four outstanding second round matches will be played to a conclusion over the two sessions of play inside the Crucible Theatre in Sheffield.

We already know Anthony McGill, Mark Williams, Neil Robertson and Kyren Wilson will be around for the quarter finals and on Monday former champions Judd Trump, Shaun Murphy, Mark Selby and Stuart Bingham will be aiming to join them.

Day 9 Recap

There were no completed matches on Sunday. Instead the four matches yet to be completed all saw action in it. There were two sessions in the Judd Trump and Dave Gilbert match as well as the Stuart Bingham and Jamie Jones clash. Trump and Bingham took advantage to lead 11-5 and 10-6 respectively. There was just the one session of play in the matches between Mark Allen and Mark Selby as well as Shaun Murphy and Yan Bingtao. Murphy leads 10-6 but Allen and Selby were pulled off a frame early so Selby leads 9-6.

In Play Betting

With no matches beginning on Monday we only have the in play betting to get stuck into over the course of the day. I don’t see a way back for Dave Gilbert or Jamie Jones. I expect Judd Trump and Stuart Bingham to get the job done in those matches without too much fuss but I’m still not convinced Yan Bingtao hasn’t got something to say in his match against Shaun Murphy. I’m already on Bingtao though so the bet for Monday comes in the other match.

I’m not sure Mark Allen is finished with this match yet and I wouldn’t be surprised to see it stay as close as it currently is. With that in mind I like Allen with the 3.5 frame start. In order for that to land he needs to win the first seven frames 4-3 on Monday evening and that was the score in the second session on Sunday where one or two rubs went against him. I think we’ll see the best of Allen in this match now his back is against the wall and we’re at the business end of it. I can’t say I’m convinced Allen will win but the odds against on him finding four more frames to get to 10 is well within his range.

Tips

Back M.Allen (+3.5 frames) to beat M.Selby for a 3/10 stake at 2.25 with Betfair
