There is another busy round of fixtures in the Specsavers County Championship on Tuesday as we head towards the end of the season and at the top of both divisions there is still plenty to play for.
It could be that the Division One title could be won this week and as such as have a TV match to enjoy while in Division Two the fascinating finale to the campaign could get even more interesting with the fancied chances having what look like routine matches.
Division One
The TV match is the bottom vs top clash between Warwickshire and Essex at Edgbaston. An Essex win could see them win the title if Lancashire don’t win while Warwickshire will be condemned to the second division if they lose. Lancashire head to Taunton to face a Somerset side fighting for their lives while the other two matches sees Middlesex hosting Hampshire at Uxbridge and Yorkshire making the trip to The Oval to take on Surrey.
Division Two
There are only four matches in the second division this week. The leaders Nottinghamshire do not have a match so Worcestershire can go top of the pile if they can force a win against Leicestershire. Northants are still aiming to chase them down and get promoted, as are Sussex. They face Glamorgan away and Derbyshire at home respectively. The other side still hoping for promotion are Kent and they head to Gloucestershire.

Betting
There are a lot of showers around the country this week so just how much cricket we are going to see and how many results we are going to get remains to be seen. The beauty of betting on this competition is if the match is a draw we lose nothing so with that in mind I will go with one bet.
Surrey have been unfortunate to have been deprived of a couple of big players for them recently in Mark Stoneman and Kumar Sangakkara but they are back this week. With the likes of Ben Foakes pushing for an Ashes squad place and Ollie Pope off the back of a century last week we know their batting will be solid this week. Their bowling attack is always decent enough.
They take on a Yorkshire side for whom constant change is automatic with them having so many men on international duty in the two formats and with overseas players coming and going as well. To me Surrey look better balanced this week and if the rain allows enough time to get a result I think it will be Surrey who achieve it.
