Aside from one season it has been a tale of woe in the Big Bash League for the Melbourne Renegades and they will be out to improve on that this season. A huge overturn of playing personnel has been undertaken who will be looking to guide the men in red to at least the play-offs if not further.

The Melbourne Renegades have raided the Adelaide Strikers ahead of the upcoming campaign which is a bit of a strange one when you consider that the Strikers actually finished below the Renegades last season.
As ever the problem of Aaron Finch leaving halfway through the tournament looks likely to hamper the chances of Renegades success but the addition of Brad Hodge could make a difference when he leaves. They will be hoping that Dwayne Bravo remains fit throughout the campaign after his horro injury last term.

Betting
Aaron Finch’s exit when the ODIs begin means there should be some decent value in the top Melbourne Renegades season batsman market and despite the likes of Cameron White and Brad Hodge being around I think the value lies in Finch’s opening partner Marcus Harris.
Harris was the third top scorer for the Renegades last season but played one match fewer than Finch and White but you would think he will play every match this year and we know that Finch certainly won’t. Harris warmed up with 50 against the Brisbane Heat and generally goes well in this competition and at 4/1 he’s the pick to lead the run scoring for the men in red.
