The majority of matches in the third week of the NFL season takes place on Sunday afternoon. 12 of this week’s fixtures form the early set of games and there should be plenty to enjoy among them all across the evening.
As ever those of us in the UK have two TV matches to sit and watch while RedZone keeps us up to date on everything else that is happening stateside. With divisional battles and intriguing tussles on the schedule a good night is in store.
1pm Kick Offs (6pm UK time)
The TV match in the opening set of matches happens to be one of the divisional clashes when the Atlanta Falcons host the New Orleans Saints inside the Mercedes Benz Stadium. The other battle within a division comes from Florida where the Jacksonville Jaguars play the Tennessee Titans.
Baltimore Ravens will look to make up for the Thursday night loss last week when they host the Denver Broncos while the Carolina Panthers welcome the Cincinnati Bengals to town. Houston Texans go up against the New York Giants with one of the more appealing matches seeing Kansas City Chiefs taking on the San Francisco 49ers. Miami Dolphins play host to the Oakland Raiders with Minnesota Vikings looking to pile more misery on Buffalo Bills. The remaining two matches sees the champions Philadelphia Eagles hosting the Indianapolis Colts and Alex Smith and his Washington Redskins playing the Green Bay Packers.
4.05/4.25pm Kick Offs (9.05/9.25pm UK time)
There are just the three matches on the card in the later round of matches. The big game among them and indeed the TV game is the Los Angeles derby between the Los Angeles Rams and the Los Angeles Chargers. Elsewhere the Chicago Bears head to the desert to take on a struggling Arizona Cardinals side while the Dallas Cowboys head to the ‘Link to take on the Seattle Seahawks who are home for the first time this season.

Betting
There are two bets I like the look of over the course of the evening. They begin in Kansas City where the Kansas City Chiefs and San Francisco 49ers can play out a high scoring contest. Kansas City stuck up 38 points on the Los Angeles Chargers in the opening week and then 42 more on Pittsburgh last week while the 49ers offered more than 16pts against Minnesota and then last week stuck up 30pts on the Detroit Lions. I think it is fair to say both these offenses are functioning much better than their defences so over 54pts looks likely in what could turn into a crazy shootout.
Later in the evening I think the Dallas Cowboys are overpriced to win at Seattle Seahawks. Seattle has not been an easy place to win in the past and while the fans in the stands might continue making plenty of noise their side on the field might not do much to encourage them. Dallas Cowboys showed us much more of what they are about last week and that blueprint can be used to good effect here. Seattle will always fall behind the count while Russell Wilson continues to get little protection and a Dallas defence that is solid enough can take advantage of that. I like the Cowboys at odds against.
Week 3 accumulator
We are yet to have any joy with our accumulators this season but we are nothing if not persistent so we have come up with this set of teams in a straight win acca to hopefully get us up and running for the campaign.
