The first half of the Easter double header in the Super League concludes on Good Friday when the last four derby matches are played. Along with the Magic Weekend, the Good Friday schedule is always the best on the calendar and that is very much the case here.
It has become tradition for the Hull derby and the bitter Wigan vs St Helens match to be played on this day and that has been upheld here. They are both live on TV for those of us in the UK with regular updates on the others.

Preview
What a day of Super League we have in store here. This is probably my favourite day in the entire calendar and it gets underway with the huge Humberside rivalry between Hull FC and Hull KR. The red half of Hull have already enjoyed victory over the Black and Whites this season and will want to keep the bragging rights. Once that is done the St Helens bandwagon will roll into Wigan for the latest offering of the Wigan vs Saints derby which should be a belter despite the gap between the two in the table.
Away from the TV cameras the Warrington Wolves will be out to bounce back from the mauling that they took at the hands of St Helens last week. They take on an impossible to work out Salford Red Devils at the Halliwell Jones Stadium. Talking of teams who nobody can decipher, the Leeds Rhinos face Huddersfield Giants in the other match with degrees or other such qualifications needed to work out what could happen there.

Betting
I’m sticking to the TV matches for my punts on Friday and in the Hull derby I expect the black half of the city to be cheering come full time when Hull FC take on Hull KR. In saying that, I don’t expect there to be a whole lot in it just given the passion and tension these games always carry. Hull FC should have won at Hull KR on the opening night of the season but squandered a lead. I think they’ll have to work harder for their advantage here but when it arrives I expect them to get over the line by somewhere between one and 12 points.
St Helens continue to look completely awesome this season with their victory over the Warrington Wolves being the stand out performance of the campaign so far and you’ve got to think that if they were playing anyone other than Wigan Warriors with the history that this fixture brings, they would be giving up more than 7.5pts here against third from bottom in the table. Wigan Warriors have really struggled this season, and although injuries have had a huge part to play in that, there aren’t many signs of that clearing up soon. Add in that they have been rocked by Shaun Edwards’ U-turn and Wigan look in a right slump. Saints can win this by eight or more.
