2019 Royal London One Day Cup – Wednesday 24th April Matches Betting Preview

We have four more matches in the Royal London One Day Cup on Wednesday when the competition continues to head towards the halfway mark. That means that every match is important and the points keenly sought after.

Once again we are devoid of live action on the television from these matches but the majority of them once again have a live feed through the county websites so we can keep up with the action in most places.

North Group

Unlike on Tuesday, it is this group which has three matches in it on Wednesday with the pick of them coming from New Road where Worcestershire play host to a Durham side who have a 100% record in the competition to date. Two sides who need a win meet at Old Trafford where Lancashire host Northamptonshire while there is a Midlands derby at Grace Road where Leicestershire host Derbyshire in a big match for the pair of them.

South Group

Just the one match takes place in the South Group on Wednesday but it certainly isn’t a bad match that is for sure as two unbeaten sides go at it to attempt to keep pace with Hampshire at the top of the table. The match sees Sussex hosting Somerset down at Hove in what looks like being the match of the day, and possible the competition so far.

Betting

It is that South Group match which has my attention. Both Sussex and Somerset go into the match unbeaten but I have the Cidermen as the more reliable here and indeed the better side so I’m a little surprised that they are the outsiders in this contest. I say that because they bat extremely deep and have plenty of good quality options with the ball.

Sussex have a good bowling attack for sure but they have a long tail as a result even with Stiaan van Zyl available for them here. David Wiese has been batting at six and while he’s been in good form that can’t be the best long-term strategy if you ask me. This should be a really god quality contest but I like Somerset to get the better of the Sharks in it.
