The Premier League season draws to a close on Sunday afternoon when one of the very best title races in its history will conclude with either Manchester City or Liverpool bagging the crown and capping an amazing campaign.
All 20 sides are in action on this final day with some appealing looking matches among them away from the inevitable focus of the top two. It will be Liverpool and Manchester City who are in the spotlight in the two live matches for those of us in the UK.

Big Matches
Manchester City head into the afternoon with their destiny in their own hands. They know that if they beat Brighton and Hove Albion at the Amex Stadium then they would have successfully defended their title. Liverpool will be hoping the champions slip up and if they do then they will walk off with the title if they can beat Wolverhampton Wanderers at Anfield. Anything but a Liverpool win in that match and City will be champions regardless of their result.
Best of the Rest
Technically there is something to play for at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium and Turf Moor where Arsenal need to beat Burnley and hope Everton see off Spurs and there is an eight goal shift in those matches in order for the Gunners to pip their rivals to a top four spot. Elsewhere Leicester play host to Chelsea, Newcastle head to Fulham, Crystal Palace host Bournemouth, Manchester United finish their season against Cardiff City while Southampton take on Huddersfield at St Mary’s. FA Cup finalists Watford face West Ham in the other match.

Betting
I’ll go with three bets over the course of the afternoon. The first of those comes in the form of Leicester City, who I would have backed against Chelsea regardless of what happened on Thursday evening but who I am definitely doing so after seeing that match. Chelsea looked out on their feet at the end of that game and we know by now that anyone who is showing signs of tiredness will be rested by Maurizio Sarri so I’m not expecting much of a Chelsea side here. Leicester City are a side on the up and they gave Manchester City a good game on Monday night. I expect them to take advantage of a jaded Chelsea here.
Crystal Palace and Bournemouth are both free scoring sides who should deliver an entertaining final day contest. Both teams have nothing to play for so they can keep their fans happy by getting on the front foot and looking to attack the other and deliver a number of goals over the course of the piece. Both these teams have dynamic attacks and aren’t afraid to sacrifice some defensive principles in the quest for goals. With that in mind I think over 3 goals can land pretty safely in this one.
I wouldn’t be completely surprised if Liverpool slip up in the title race on Sunday. Not only do they face a tough opponent in Wolverhampton Wanderers but if news comes through that Man City are ahead early then the air could disappear out of the balloon pretty swiftly. We know what we’re going to get from Wolves. They are tight and hard to break down and they have the quality to get at Liverpool on the break. Given all that the odds on the Wolves-draw double chance look way too big to ignore completely. Newcastle were four minutes and a horrible decision from getting something out of Liverpool last week. Wolves can do it here.
