It is the final night of the third week of the A Night at the Darts event and after the action was lit up by Phil Taylor on Friday evening, we are back down to five players battling it out in their homes to provide entertainment for us in ours during lockdown.
The overall title has already been won by David Evans such has been the dominance he has shown this week but that highlights how competitive it could be between the other five players, so we should be in for another good night of action to round off the week.
The Format
Each night from Monday to Saturday five men will battle it out in a round robin group with the overall champion being determined on Saturday May 2. Matches will see the players compete over the best of 9 legs with each of them at home in front of a webcam throwing at their own individual dartboards. Scores can be found on Dart Connect and the tournament will be streamed on the bookmaker live streaming consoles and for free on Dartslive.tv.

Friday Recap
Although Phil Taylor stole the show with his appearance on Friday night, it was Fallon Sherrock who came out on top of the nightly league with her three wins enough to see off Mike Warburton by virtue of leg difference. Sherrock also pushed Taylor to a deciding leg so it was a good night for her. It wasn’t quite a good night for Martin Adams or Wessel Nijman who both picked up just the one win to show for their efforts. David Evans rounded off his campaign with a couple of victories.
It was a night to forget on the betting front. The Taylor accumulator never got going after Wessel Nijman averaged 112 against him in the first match while Wolfie faded fast after winning his opening match. That meant he didn’t win the group and he didn’t beat Mike Warburton either while Nijman’s scoring was well off the pace and he was not able to hit the most 180s against David Evans.
Saturday Line Up
David Evans has played his five days so he will have this final night of the week off. Kyle McKinstry comes back into the fold looking to end a week where he has played better than his results have suggested, with a few more wins. If he is to do that he will have to get the better of the Friday winner Fallon Sherrock, the winner of last week’s table Wessel Nijman, Martin Adams and Mike Warburton in what looks a very competitive group.

Outright Betting
When I looked at the odds for this group I initially thought that after winning three of his four matches on Friday that Mike Warburton could be a spot of value for it at 10/1 but I’m not convinced Friday was anything other than the schedule helping him. Because of the scheduling of the matches to get Phil Taylor’s games in, Warby ended up playing every other match for his last thee so got into a rhythm, but even then never averaged 90 in any of his matches.
There is an argument to be had that the value lies with Fallon Sherrock at 6/1. Two of her three wins on Friday night were emphatic and she could be the best finisher in this field so she is worth considering but I was hoping for just slightly bigger to back her. Wessel Nijman’s game faded fast on Friday which was a concern as did that of Martin Adams whose shoulder issue could be a factor. Kyle McKinstry doesn’t hit enough doubles for my liking so although I’m tempted with Fallon I’ll leave the group alone.
Match Betting
There is only one match which interests me from a betting point of view and it is actually the final match of the night as Kyle McKinstry takes on Martin Adams. Having started off like a house on fire on Friday evening, Adams got progressively worse as the evening went on and there could be something in that because there have been other occasions when he has done that, so it could be that the long evenings catch up with him a little.
That isn’t the case for McKinstry. If anything this week he has produced his best games the longer the nights have gone on, he’s just been unlucky that in three of those evenings his final match has been against Wessel Nijman, even then he has a win over him and a narrow 5-4 loss. Importantly though the final match which wasn’t against the Dutchman was against Martin Adams and the Northern Irishman won that 5-2 even though Wolfie averaged 97.6. That was on Monday though so if Adams’ shoulder is an issue it is likely to be more of one on a fifth night of action for the week than a first after a few nights off. You can get 5/6 on McKinstry winning this and that looks worth taking to me based on when they will battle against each other.
