Preview

The televised match comes from the Halliwell Jones Stadium where there will be 4000 supporters in attendance for the match between the Warrington Wolves and the Huddersfield Giants, two sides who are well below where they would want to be in the table at the present time. The champions are also in action on Monday evening when St Helens play in front of their own fans for the first time in more than a year. They take on the Challenge Cup finalists of last season in Salford Red Devils.

The biggest gap between two teams in the table is the one which sees bottom placed Leigh Centurions hosting second placed Wigan Warriors, the team they returned to Super League against at the beginning of the season. The other two matches sees two potential title challengers meeting at the KCOM Stadium where Hull FC go up against Catalans Dragons while in the other game the Castleford Tigers will host Hull KR.

Betting

I want to see the impact that having fans back makes on the teams before I go steamrolling into anything in the Super League but there is a bet which has a handicap line which I can’t ignore on Monday, even though I’m taking the visitors on it which I’m slightly nervy about doing because my instinct tells me that home teams will be a little more inspired this week and next. The match I am going to concentrate on is the one between Castleford Tigers and Hull KR.

These two have already met once this season in the Challenge Cup and it went to extra time so quite why Castleford Tigers are having to give up a 14 point start here, particularly when you consider that they played in the cup last week and Hull KR didn’t, is beyond me. Don’t get me wrong, I fancy the Tigers to win the match but not only did they play last week but Grant Millington picked up an injury and Liam Watts a suspension so Castleford aren’t even going to be at full strength for this match either. Hull KR welcome a couple of handy players back into their ranks as they bid to get over a heavy defeat to Warrington Wolves a couple of weeks ago, but for 50 or so minutes in that match they were more than competitive. Whether Castleford win or not everything suggests Hull KR can remain within 14 points of them.

Tips

WON – Back Hull KR (+14) to beat Castleford Tigers for a 3/10 stake at 2.00 with Coral
