The Premier League weekend concludes with the Monday Night Football which this time comes from Molineux where an improving Wolverhampton Wanderers host an Everton side who are just teetering on the edge of going the other way.
Wolves stumbled out of the blocks in terms of results this season whereas Everton flew out of the traps and they were right up with the pace until injuries began to get the better of them. These are two capable sides on their day though.
Where to watch
The match will be shown live and in full on the Monday Night Football programme which will be shown live on Sky Sports Main Event and Sky Sports Premier League. The show begins at 7pm and the match kicks off at Molineux at 8pm.
Wolverhampton Wanderers
Wolverhampton Wanderers lost four of their first five matches this season when scoring goals under their new boss was proving to be a challenging task. It wasn’t for the lack of chances that they were creating but putting the ball in the back of the net wasn’t their forte. Since then they have won three and drawn one and to be fair that looked like being four wins on the spin until Leeds United scored a late equaliser last time out. In fairness, Wolves beat Aston Villa from 2-0 down with 10 minutes to play so their ledger is probably about right for those two games.
Wolves didn’t score in any of those four matches they have lost but they have found the net seven times in the four outings since then so with the penny dropping in front of goal they are clearly building confidence and momentum and should be buoyant heading into this match. They have only won one of their four home matches, although to be fair the defeats were to Tottenham, Brentford and Manchester United, the latter in a match where they created so much, so the form is a little skewed.
Everton
There was some pressure on the Toffees going into the season because of the ties to those across Stanley Park of their new manager but they came out of the traps looking very good. They won three of their first four matches, drawing the other one, but since then they have only won one out of five, which was against Norwich which isn’t exactly the best form guide based on the way they are playing. The biggest worry for them was how they folded against an average looking Watford side last time out.
Injuries are definitely hurting Everton at the minute. They have been without the focal point of their attack in Dominic Calvert-Lewin for a while and now their driving force in the centre of the park has gone as well in Abdoulaye Doucore. That has reflected in their results and with neither of those players back here, Everton are clearly going to need something a lot better than what they offered last week when they ended up humiliated by Watford.

Team News
Wolves could have defender Willy Boly available for the first time in the Premier League this term. He has recovered from illness but Marcal is expected to miss the game with a calf issue. Trincao is also believed to be available again.
Everton are expected to have Richarlison available from the start after he scored against his former club off the bench last week. They remain without Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Abdoulaye Doucore but could have Yerry Mina and Andre Gomes available.
Betting
These two look to be going in opposite directions at the minute and that might not change here. Wolves have probably been better overall than their point tally suggests but they are in a positive run at the minute and must be feeling good about their game. The same can’t really be said of Everton. They are still in a good position but their form has taking a bit of a dip and last week threw up plenty of concerns which will have needed addressing.
I wonder if Benitez will tighten things up here and play more not to lose this one rather than be offensive minded in any way without two key members of his starting XI. I wouldn’t expect Everton to have much of the ball anyway and that is a concern for a side who just shipped five at home. Wolves have a number of ways of hurting sides now whether it is through the pace of Traore or the skills of the other forwards. As long as they keep Richarlison quiet at the other end I expect a Wolves win here, although I’ll have some draw cover on my side in case Everton prove hard to break down.
