The Super League XXVII weekend concludes on Sunday when the last two matches in the round take place on a day where the chasing pack will look to move a little closer to the leaders St Helens as we head towards the halfway mark of the campaign.
Both the matches are live on the TV so there is no reason not to sit back and enjoy four hours of rugby league as two of the better sides in the competition will once again look to showcase their credentials.
Wigan Warriors vs Salford Red Devils (13.00 – Channel 4)
The first of the two matches sees Super League on terrestrial TV once again when the Wigan Warriors will look to move level on points with St Helens at the top of the table when they host the Salford Red Devils at the DW Stadium.
Salford are one of the more entertaining teams to watch this season but they head to Wigan having lost their last three in the Super League and conceded 30 points or more in all of those matches. They are going to need to tighten up at the back if they are going to be competitive this season but you sense they’ll get little change out of a Wigan side who are impressing in attack without having lost too much defensively from where they were last season. It would be a surprise if Wigan don’t win this and potentially win it well but this isn’t the time in the campaign to be taking sides to cover close to three converted tries.

Hull FC vs Catalans Dragons (18.45 – Sky Sports Arena)
The second match of the day comes from the MKM Stadium in Hull where Hull FC host the beaten Grand Final outfit of last season in the Catalans Dragons with the French side also looking to go level on points with St Helens.
Hull FC had an up and down Easter with a defeat in the derby followed by a fortuitous win over Warrington where their winning try was never a score in a month of Sundays. They will be looking to get rid of that inconsistency and become not just more consistent but convincing too as they chase a top six berth. They won’t be helped here though with Luke Gale being suspended once again. Catalans Dragons haven’t necessarily been as convincing as they would like in recent matches but they are getting the job done despite some injuries which have come along. They will still be without the likes of Sam Tomkins and Mike McMeeken but they do have Arthur Mourgue back on the park which is a help. Despite the Dragons injuries the absence of Gale is likely to be felt quite strongly by Hull FC and I think that will allow the Dragons to continue their fine recent record on this ground.
