The final day of the Austrian Darts Open takes place out in Graz on Sunday as the fourth European Tour event of the season will see a winner crowned on what should be a good day of darts across two sessions of play.
As is always the case on the final day of a European Tour event we have the last 16 in the afternoon ahead of the last three rounds of the tournament in the evening session. We won’t be able to preview the latter stages but we’ll take a look at the afternoon action.
First Four Matches
We open up with two men who know how to go all the way on the big stages when the UK Open champion Danny Noppert takes on the reigning Premier League holder Jonny Clayton before the reigning champion of The Masters in Joe Cullen takes on Krzysztof Ratajski who is always dangerous. Two men who don’t often go deep in the European Tour events meet in the third match of the afternoon when Danny Jansen goes up against Ricky Evans before Madars Razma looks to continue his good weekend when he takes on Nathan Aspinall.

Later Four Matches
The second half of the afternoon begins with the Dutch star Dirk van Duijvenbode on show. He faces the one remaining home player left in the draw in the shape of Zoran Lerchbacher before the tie of the round comes along when Michael van Gerwen meets James Wade for the second time in a matter of days after they squared off in the Premier League on Thursday evening. The penultimate match of the session sees Gabriel Clemens going up against Rob Cross before the afternoon closes with the improving Callan Rydz looking to build on his win over Peter Wright on Saturday when he takes on our remaining outright bet Stephen Bunting.
Betting
I’ll go with one bet over the course of the afternoon and that sees Danny Jansen taking on Ricky Evans in a match where the improving Dutch player might well be the one to be on. Experience is with Evans in this match but he can be erratic at the best of times. Jansen took care of the winner of the last European Tour event on Saturday in Luke Humphries and played pretty well in the process with a 95.57 average. He has played two matches this weekend and dropped just three legs.
While experience is with Evans, form is very much with the Dutch player. It is only a month ago he was winning a Players Championship event where the likes of Peter Wright, Krzysztof Ratajski and Dave Chisnall were among his victims. Evans did make the final of a floor event earlier in the year but it has been slim pickings for him around that. I like the throw of the Dutch player here and given how comfortably he has come through the draw so far I fancy he can take care of business here.
