The ODI series between Bangladesh and India concludes on Saturday when the two sides move to Chittagong for the third and final game of it, with Bangladesh looking to complete what would be a huge clean sweep for them.
India will know they could and maybe should have won both of the opening two matches but came up dry in both of them. They won’t want to go into the Test matches next week without a win from this series so although the series has been won this still should be competitive.
Bangladesh
Bangladesh probably hoped they would win the opening two matches of the series but I’m not convinced they would have expected to. They haven’t just won those opening two matches, they have won one chasing a score down, a mediocre score it has to be said, and they have won one when posting a score. On each occasion their lower order bailed them out but it is never a bad thing to have batting depth. They will be looking for more runs from their top order in this match though.
The one thing which has happened throughout this series, as tends to happen whenever Bangladesh play at home in this format or the 20 over one, is their bowlers have come to the party. They have bowled tight with good mixes to their pace and are hard to score against. If their top order can just provide them with a few more runs or a better platform then there is no reason why Bangladesh won’t be able to complete a famous clean sweep here.
India
India could be forgiven for wondering how they have lost this series because they have been in control of both matches at different stages and let their opponent get away from them. The first match was the real killer as they were a wicket away from winning that match and that would surely have changed the whole path of the series. They couldn’t get that final wicket though and a similar story followed in the second game as well.
If there is a positive from the first two matches for India then it is that they won’t need to look too far to where they need to improve. They need to finish their bowling innings better and just be ruthless against the Bangladesh lower order. They could also do with a few more runs but the constant chopping and changing of their batting personnel from series to series probably isn’t doing them a while lot of good.

Team News
Unless there is a late illness or injury concern for Bangladesh there is no real need for them to change a winning team, particularly as they go about chasing what would be a huge whitewash for them given the history between these nations.
India will be forced into a change for this match as their captain Rohit Sharma is the latest to find his way onto the India injury list. Ishan Kishan is the man most likely to replace him. They are also running out of seamers as well which could see Shahbaz Ahmed brought into the side.
Betting
I’ll finish the series with a bet on the performance line of Mehidy Hasan Miraz. I’m not really that interested in the match outcome markets because while both teams will want to win to either secure or avoid the whitewash, it is largely a dead rubber and also we don’t actually know how India will line up or will balance their side. That makes me stick with the man who is surely going to be crowned the player of the series after this game.
Mehidy has covered this 40.5 target in both matches so far in the series and in the second game he obliterated it with 150 points. He still scored 58 points in the opening game of the series and in neither of those matches has he bowled a full allotment of overs. You would imagine he’ll get that here and with his bowling likely to get the bulk of this total covered, we should only need a few runs from him with the bat. He has 38* and 100* so far in this series so he is going well with that too and so the over looks good here.
