The triple header of Saturday action in the NFL 2022 is a second division clash of the day as the top two in the AFC East go at it when the Buffalo Bills play host to the Miami Dolphins in a huge game in the season of both teams.
Buffalo will move to within a win of the AFC East title if they come out on top in this match but the Dolphins will keep their title hopes alive if they can leave Orchard Park with the victory. They would also edge clear of the Bills in the division too which could be important.
Buffalo Bills
This has been another excellent season for the Buffalo Bills so far but there are one or two questions that are beginning to come their way that they need to answer. The first is whether they can keep pressure on opposing quarterbacks because they have lost their gun pass rusher Von Miller for the rest of the season. We might get an immediate answer to that question because Miami’s passing offense is among the most feared in the league.
The other question mark is whether the Bills can find a run game that could serve them well in the playoffs assuming they get there. We might find that out here too because we are in for something of a snow bowl is the weather forecast is correct. In a way that might help the Buffalo secondary out a touch but it might not do their own offense much good. This is the sort of match Buffalo will need to win come the postseason so it is good preparation for that.

Miami Dolphins
This is a much improved season for the Miami Dolphins, although when you invest what they did in bringing the likes of Tyreeq Hill to the Hard Rock Stadium then the very least you would expect is improvement. They go into the evening 8-5 for the season but for a long period they were going much better than that. They have lost their last two matches so they were 8-3 and incredibly well placed so a win here would not just keep them realistically in the hunt for the division but would stop a bit of a slump in its stride.
If you was being harsh on the Miami Dolphins you would suggest that those defeats were on the offense who put up just 17 points on each occasion but in one of those matches they were up against the San Francisco 49ers who possess the best defence in football. That offense would have been required to step up and be counted here usually but the weather might turn this around completely and instead they are going to have to rely on the defence.
Betting
I’m always reluctant to take the under because of weather because if the reality isn’t as bad as the forecast you are snookered pretty quickly but the forecast is absolutely terrible and so I can’t believe it isn’t going to have some sort of impression. The passing game has to be affected here if the levels of snow forecast arrive and I don’t really see either team having a run game that is suddenly going to run riot on the other defence.
That makes me think that we are in for a lower scoring game than you would expect and given all the pictures already coming through from Buffalo I’m a little surprised that the point line is still in the 43.5 range. If you consider that the under landed in much better conditions when these two met in Miami earlier in the year there is more than enough reason when the weather gets factored into the equation to play the under here.
