We save the best for last in the NFL 2023 season on Sunday as two teams who could very well battle it out for the NFC Championship later in the campaign meet in the Sunday Night Football as the San Francisco 49ers host the Dallas Cowboys.
These two have played eight matches between them this season and they have lost just the one match so these are two of the better sides in the entire NFL not just the NFC so we should be in for a cracking contest.
San Francisco 49ers
I think the San Francisco 49ers were the pick for the Super Bowl this season for a lot of judges, ourselves included, and I don’t think anyone who had that thought process will be disappointed with what they have seen from the Niners to date. They have won all four matches that they have played and look very good on both sides of the ball in the process. You sense there is more to come too with Brock Purdy still relatively inexperienced at this level.
You can argue what the 49ers have beaten so far this season with none of the four teams they have beaten having a winning record this term but sometimes in sport it isn’t who you beat, it is how you do the beating and San Francisco have looked very good. No team has scored more than 23 points on them this term while San Francisco have scored 30 points or more in all four matches. This will be their biggest test so far but they look ready for it.

Dallas Cowboys
In the main the Dallas Cowboys have been equally impressive if we ignore their surprise loss to the Arizona Cardinals a couple of weeks ago. They were very ordinary by their standards in that game and that might be something that stops them going as deep into the season as they would want, but in the games they have won they have looked in complete control, so when they are good, the Cowboys are very good.
Much like with San Francisco, there is certainly a question mark over what the Dallas Cowboys have beaten this season. Their three wins were against a terrible on the night New York Giants, a New York Jets working out life without Aaron Rodgers and a poor New England Patriots side. While they haven’t beaten much, in those three outings they have conceded just 13 points and run up 108 at the other end. If you let Dallas get away they’ll keep on pushing but it will be interesting to see what they’ve got in a tight tussle like this looks like being.
Betting
I think we will find out a lot more about the Dallas Cowboys in this match because the San Francisco 49ers look very good and on home soil I think they will put up the strongest challenge the Boys have faced this term. When we consider that the Cowboys have already been to Arizona and lost this season I’ve got to think that they will have their work cut out here. They will certainly need to show more than what they have done so far.
San Francisco 49ers have looked very good on both sides of the ball and while this will probably be the biggest test of their defence so far this season, we have seen in previous campaigns that they have the personnel to stand up to the challenge. San Francisco have beaten Dallas in each of the last two seasons and we don’t truly know how good Dallas are at the minute. It is clear that San Francisco are a good side and I think they cover a field goal in this one.
