The Czech Darts Open continues on Saturday when the second round of the tournament is played out across two sessions of play as the seeded players enter the event for the first time in the last European Tour competition of the season.
That means that we will see the likes of the world champion Luke Humphries, Luke Littler and Michael van Gerwen among others for the first time on Saturday with securing a spot on the final day of the event the aim for everyone involved.
Afternoon Session
We get underway on Saturday with the German player Ricardo Pietreczko going up against the competent Martin Lukeman before we have a cracking match between Damon Heta and Gabriel Clemens, who will both feel they can have a big run if they win this contest. Chris Dobey is third onto the stage when he goes up against Jermaine Wattimena before we get to the halfway point of the afternoon with Josh Rock looking to make it through when he faces the home player Pavel Drtil.
Four competitive matches round off the afternoon in the second part of the session with the first of them seeing two unseeded players meeting when Kim Huybrechts takes on Luke Woodhouse before the second seed Ross Smith begins his campaign with a battle against Alan Soutar. The new World Grand Prix champion Mike De Decker will be looking to make it into the final day of the event when he takes on Danny Noppert before the afternoon concludes with Ryan Searle going up against the former world champion Michael Smith.

Evening Session
The evening opens up with another good looking game when Gian van Veen bids to make it to the final day when he takes on James Wade. The number one seed Dave Chisnall is then on show when he meets Niels Zonneveld before one of the marquee clashes of the round comes along when Gerwyn Price takes on Raymond van Barneveld in a battle of former world champions. Stephen Bunting then takes us to the halfway point of the evening when he plays Jonny Clayton in another great game.
The second half of the evening is full of quality as well and it gets underway with Michael van Gerwen looking to make it into the final day when he takes on Krzysztof Ratajski before the heavyweight clash between Luke Littler and Nathan Aspinall which should be something special. The world champion Luke Humphries meets Ritchie Edhouse in the penultimate game of the day before the session concludes with two European Tour event winners this season already when Martin Schindler takes on Peter Wright.
Betting
I like a couple of bets over the course of the day on Saturday with one in each session. The afternoon session I like Mike De Decker to continue his good form when he goes up against Danny Noppert. Noppert is a good player but De Decker is scoring so well at the minute that he will put pressure on the Dutchman, who we should remember is playing on this stage for the first time this weekend whereas the Belgian has already won a match. De Decker hasn’t just won a match, he won it with a 104 average and it looks like he has brought the confidence of his World Grand Prix win with him to Prague. Noppert is very hit and miss on the stage at the minute so I’m a little surprised that De Decker is 10/11 after the weekend. I think that is a price that should be taken.
The other bet that I like comes right at the end of the evening when Peter Wright takes on Martin Schindler with the defending champion the outsider of the two once again. Schindler has been playing really well this year but there are times when he misses doubles and that could very well come here because he can’t feel comfortable playing Wright. I say that because the head to head record between the two reads 10-1 in the favour of the Scot which is pretty incredible. Their most recent meeting was only last month when Schindler was playing well and it was Wright who came out on top on that occasion and having averaged a nudge over 97 in a good win over Cameron Menzies on Friday, which might have been higher but for a couple of missed match darts before getting the job done, Wright should be going into this one with some confidence. Whatever it is, Schindler doesn’t get on well with Wright when they meet and when you consider the German comes in cold here whereas Wright is fresh having skipped the Players Championship events in the week and has had a match on the stage I can’t ignore the even money on the defending champion here.
