There is one match in the Barclays Premier League on Sunday and it has impressions on the top and the bottom of the table as Aston Villa welcome Tottenham to Villa Park.
You could say Villa are in desperate need of points but realistically they know their fate I think and recent performances suggest to me they are getting ready to be put out of their misery and for the inevitable to happen.
Tottenham launched themselves right into the title race but a defeat to West Ham and a draw with Arsenal in their last two league matches have seen them drop off the pace a little. Nevertheless with Leicester not playing until Monday night Spurs have the chance to really pile the pressure on with a win here.
Villa have been woeful in their last four matches. A 6-0 defeat to Liverpool and a 4-0 defeat to Man City bookended defeats against Stoke and Everton and the fight seems to have been beaten from Remi Garde’s side.
This is a must win match for Tottenham if they are going to win the title and I think Mauricio Pochettino appreciates that hence why he rested a number of key players for the trip to Dortmund in midweek.
We can expect the likes of Harry Kane, Dele Alli and Eric Dier to be back in the Tottenham side for this game and I just see them being too strong in the forward areas and solid enough at the back to get the job done here.
The Asian line is -1 but you’ve got to think Tottenham will win this match so that would guarantee us at least a push but the way Villa just collapse when they go behind there is every chance Spurs win this more comfortably than by just the odd goal. I think this is a bit of a gift line if I’m honest.
