There is one Premier League match on Sunday and it is a huge one for Newcastle and their fans. They have the chance to come off the bottom if they avoid defeat to Norwich but lose here and the pressure really piles on.
Norwich have the chance to move up four places to 11th place in the table – above the likes of Chelsea and that would be a significant position to be in as we approach the quarter mark of the campaign.
To say Newcastle have started the season poorly is an understatement but they have shown flashes of life in their last two matches but they have developed a trend to shoot themselves in the foot in those matches too and that isn’t a good combination.
Norwich go about their business in an appealing way. They get the ball down and attack and that works well for them especially on the road when they can counter attack to their hearts content and I’m sure they will go into this match fancying their chances.
Newcastle were rocked with the news that goalkeeper Tim Krul did his cruciate ligament while on international duty and that is him out for the season so they have to find a replacement for him but if they can settle defensively they have the attacking talent to score.
Norwich are expecting to have Wes Hoolahan back for this match which is a boost to them. Gary Hooper is also expected to be available too and that will give Alex Neil plenty of options as he goes in search of another Premier League win.
Both sides have plenty about them going forward and both have plenty of issues defensively so even at 8/11 I’m really hot on both teams scoring here. Newcastle scored against Chelsea and Man City recently while Norwich are scoring and conceding at will. I expect both to find the net here.
