The final Premier League weekend before the latest international break begins with seven matches on Saturday played out across three kick off times.
The early game is a huge match for both Bournemouth and Newcastle when they collide at the Goldsands Stadium. Both sides are in awful form and need a win desperately so there will be some nerves on show on BT Sport.
There are five matches kicking off at 3pm. All eyes will be on the King Power Stadium to see if Jamie Vardy can continue his amazing goalscoring streak when Leicester entertain Watford. Louis van Gaal’s Man Utd take on West Brom at Old Trafford while Norwich play host to Swansea. The other two matches sees Sunderland hosting Southampton and West Ham taking on Everton.
The action then concludes in the 5.30pm kick off where under fire Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho will be watching his side from afar when they head to Stoke as he has been banned from the stadium. Stoke have already seen off Chelsea in the Capital One Cup and a Premier League win over them could have a big impact on Mourinho’s future.
In truth I’m not getting much of a feel for this set of matches. I’m tempted to take Everton to beat a West Ham side who seem to have gone off the boil in recent weeks but there isn’t really enough in the price and the rest of the matches could go either way or the lines look about right. I keep thinking Chelsea will get back on track soon but each week I seem to be wrong on that.
There is one I like though and it comes in the early game where I’m not convinced either Bournemouth or Newcastle can defend so I’m expecting a really open game to get proceedings underway.
Bournemouth have gone two games without a goal but they usually score at home. They certainly concede plenty be it at home or away and Newcastle are the same. Prior to their 0-0 with Stoke last week they had been involved in a number of high scoring matches so I’m expecting this one to be another that contains at least three goals.
