Caribbean Premier League – Guyana Amazon Warriors vs Trinbago Knight Riders Betting Preview

The games are coming thick and fast in the Guyana leg of the Caribbean Premier League season and the third match takes place on Sunday night when the Guyana Amazon Warriors take on the Trinbago Knight Riders.

Guyana are absolutely flying at the top of the table while Trinbago will be looking to make up for a disappointing home leg of the tour and push their way back up to a position where they can defend their title.

Guyana Amazon Warriors

Guyana have played two matches on this ground this season, won them both and restricted their opponents to less than 110 on both occasions and if they can continue to do that then they are going to be tough to beat throughout the remainder of their campaign.

It will be interesting to see how Guyana go if they have to bat first because the two sides who have been here so far haven’t had a clue how to put runs on the board and that has meant that Guyana have been able to blaze away at the top to reduce small chases to simple enough tasks.

Trinbago Knight Riders

Trinbago have had a bit of time to take stock of what went wrong for them in their home matches and they still have enough games left to make it into the playoffs and from there anyone can win the tournament as they know only too well having come back from a poor start last season.

You would think this match will be all about the Trinbago batsmen as they have the bowling attack to lap up this wicket but the batting hasn’t always been on song in the tournament. It will need to produce a solid effort here against an attack who have played these conditions perfectly thus far.

Betting

Not for the first time in this tournament we have that issue of a side playing so soon after their previous match and the way they laboured over the line in that match there could be some mental fatigue hanging around for the Guyana Amazon Warriors.

I happen to think they would have been up against it in this match anyway because in Sunil Narine, Suliemann Benn and Nikita Miller the Trinbago Knight Riders have arguably the best spin attack in the competition.

To be able to bowl 12 overs of spin on this wicket is going to be a real boost and it isn’t part-time spin either it is top quality stuff. While their batsmen still have to put some runs on the board they do bat deep so they should be able to scramble a score together even if the likes of Brendon McCullum don’t get firing. At even money I’m with the away side here.
