Caribbean Premier League – Jamaica Tallawahs vs Guyana Amazon Warriors Betting Preview

We hit Jamaica for the first time in the Caribbean Premier League this season in the early hours of Saturday morning when the Jamaica Tallawahs take on the Guyana Amazon Warriors for the second time this season.

In conditions that heavily favoured them the Amazon Warriors saw off the Tallawahs in Guyana last week so Jamaica will be eager to get their revenge in this one. They need to in order to keep up with the pace at the top of the table.

Jamaica Tallawahs

This is where the tournament really begins for Jamaica. Home legs in this tournament are really important and that is perhaps even more the case when you think we have the Florida leg this year. By and large Jamaica were strong at home last season and that is likely to give them plenty of confidence.

It is stages like this one that Chris Gayle is often inspired by and it would be no surprise if he goes big in this match. If the rest of the line up give him able support then Jamaica are going to be very tough to beat with the ability of their bowling attack.

Guyana Amazon Warriors

Guyana have flown clear at the top of the table after making full use of their home leg of the season and a win here would see them move an amazing seven points clear at the top and surely ensure they will be in the top two at the end of the season which will give them two bites at the cherry to make the final.

Their bowling attack really took advantage of home conditions in Guyana but their batsmen have shown throughout the tournament that whatever type of wicket they play on they can deliver the goods and that will serve them well over the rest of the competition.

Betting

I’m tempted to back Guyana to complete a quick double over Jamaica but taking on Chris Gayle on Jamaica’s opening home game of the season might not be the shrewdest move known to man so in the end I’ve decided to give the match betting a miss and hit the side markets.

The obvious one of those is the sixes here the line looks fairly high at 14.5 but actually might not be high enough. Guyana have hit loads of sixes in this tournament and there is no reason why that won’t continue here while Jamaica are built to go big themselves and there is every chance that Guyana’s attack isn’t going to dominate as much in these conditions as others so all that put together and I’m expecting plenty of sixes here.
