It is the final day of the Dutch Darts Championship on Sunday as the 16 players left in the tournament battle down to our champion where someone will walk off with £25,000 and their chances of reaching the European Championship significantly enhanced.
We have the last 16 of the competition in the afternoon session while the quarter finals and onwards comes along in the evening. Time restrictions will deny us the chance to look at the latter stage of the event but we’ll go through the last 16 here.
First Four Matches
We open up with the defending champion Dave Chisnall looking to make it through to the final session of the weekend when he meets a Jonny Clayton who is trying to turn his year around after a slow start. When they are done Ryan Searle will be expected to make it through when he goes up against the former Dutch player Jeffrey de Graaf. Two Dutch players compete in the third match of the afternoon when Danny Noppert meets Jermaine Wattimena before we reach the halfway point of the evening with Michael van Gerwen looking to reach the quarter final at the expense of Chris Dobey.

Later Four Matches
Two men who have a real chance to go deep when maybe they were not expected to at the start of the week meet to begin the second half of the afternoon when Ritchie Edhouse faces Luke Woodhouse before the UK Open champion Dimitri Van den Bergh, fresh from beating a Ross Smith who hit a nine dart finish against him, takes on Martin Schindler. We finish the afternoon with a couple of good looking matches as Gerwyn Price faces the home young star Gian van Veen before Josh Rock closes out the session when he faces Cameron Menzies.
Betting
In the main, Ritchie Edhouse has been in decent touch in recent times but he hasn’t played that well this week so far, certainly not in the average ranks anyway. He is yet to get anywhere near a 90 average this week and a lot of that is down to his doubling percentage where so far he has hit 6/24 and 6/21. You would imagine that is going to need a significant improvement if he is going to be Luke Woodhouse and make it into the quarter finals.
Woodhouse laboured through his first match against Ryan Meikle who was really low key but he flirted with a 100 average in overcoming Daryl Gurney on Saturday and that gives you the confidence that he’ll get the job done here. Woodhouse will score well enough to stay with Edhouse, if not be ahead of him in certain legs and if it comes down to a battle of the doubles then we’ve seen this weekend that Woodhouse has an edge. At 13/10 I think he’s the value play here.
